hilarious at first

i, too, like it better when ougi draws men (rather than a man and an effeminate boy), and rio seems to get younger and smaller as the story goes on, but IMO this isn't even close to shota. rio still looks like a teenage boy; it's just that tomo looks older than a teenage boy, so the discrepancy is larger than usual between class mates.

i really enjoyed the first volume; it was crackelicious. i dislike plots driven by dumb misunderstandings, as well as super-dense uke, and those tend to ruin a story for me. but ougi manages to make the misunderstandings so inane, and somehow pulls out a sweet synergy between rio and tomo, which makes the story fun. rio isn't an idiot (he's a top student), just very, very, very naive and good-natured. tomo, despite being overbearing and rough at first, and in denial for a time thereafter, shows in all his actions that he really cares for rio -- love that first date setup. i am seriously glad the original non-con didn't continue, because it would have tipped the balance of the story into crap, since rape and humour do not go together for me. even though rio is something of a standard uke (small, gentle, defenseless, needs to be rescued), at least she carries on with having him enjoy sex, and he doesn't pretend otherwise.

the second volume is more of the same and i started to get tired of the misunderstandings by the end, though there was some character growth to partially make up for that. the third volume switched the viewpoint characters to haruka and associated men, as well as jou. while we're back to actual men, the humour is gone and i don't feel there is anything much between any of those people; but while haruka / ayumi / whatshisname are mildly entertaining because there's the suspense of whom haruka will choose, jou and seira's story turns me off entirely. my rating is only for rio and tomo's story in v1 and v2; the 3rd volume would be a 5.

i like ougi's art, and her sex scenes when she steps away from the usual. but the very best thing, frankly, are her atogaki; she is hilarious -- i want to hang out with her!

what part of this is shota?? the uke looks nothing like a young boy, they both look like teenage boys. but the uke is very naive, but that makes him charming to me. i like his honest and sweet personality and i love how the seme tries to cure his gayness! its a very funny and sweet manga.

Very good

Volume 1: Starts out great, really funny and akward, characters and their chemistry is very amusing. Tama's attempt to 'cure' homosexuality was very funny in particular. I enjoyed volume one alot, it was cute, funny and had the perfect ending in my opinion.

Volume 2: I think this was good but it was weaker than the first volume. The art style changes subtly, especially where Rio is concerned (i swear his eyes get bigger and he gets shorter), but its not amazingly notable and makes no real difference to the story. This is just a basic continuation with a new character thrown in here and there to give it more substance, it had good moments but generally, the same effect could have been carried off in half the time. Still good though.

Volume 3: An improvement on volume 2 for sure bigrazz follows the stories concerning the side characters as well as the two main characters, and its good. It keeps you interested and thats what matters most in any manga. I enjoyed volume 3 a lot, but i really want volume four now so i know what happens between one particular pairing >:3

I love this story because Rio is just so cute. I felt so bad for him when he was going through his angst of thinking that Tomo was just trying to do something nice for him by curing him of his gayness, while Rio had a one-sided love for Tomo. This story had angst, humor and smut, loved it all. I can't wait for the second volume to come out.

Love her work

This is another great work from Ougi-sensei. Lovable characters, comedic moments balanced by plenty of angst and sexual tension, I feel that this is probably my favorite of her works. It has a corny plot to it (probably the reason I love it so much - I HEART corny!), but a wonderful get-together story. I also feel that the artwork is top-notch. I eagerly await each new release as it comes out.

Typical but good

In the beginning, I was unsure of this yaoi. The whole premise turned me off but I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. It was a good, although typical, yaoi. The characters and couples were entertaining and the manga kept you interested from beginning to end. The plot is nothing new, more or less just couples with communication issues fighting and making up but the situations did tug at your heart.

I don't see why everyone else is blowing smoke about the love triangle. It was really obvious who would end up with Haruka. The minute Haruka met the chosen guy, the other guy didn't stand a chance. He never showed he had any feelings for the other guy, it was completely one-sided. Granted, the other guy was in a better life situation but if Haruka had chosen him, his heart wouldn't have been in the relationship and would have just strung the second guy around. How would have that been anymore fair? Besides, this was a love triangle. The minute you started reading it, you already have a 50% chance that you'd be left disappointed by the ending.

A nice read

The first story about Tomomi and Rio was nice, your typical yaoi story, and I enjoyed reading that. Jou's story was also nice (but short. It had a lot of potential). The last one was the one that caught my attention the most and that's because it left me dissatisfied.
I was also team Ayumi. But it's a rule in the yaoi world, the first guy who claims the uke is the one who ends up having him for good. And that's why Haruka chose Masami over Ayumi. That and because he was funny in the head. The last chapters were all wrong and I still can't explain why mangakas, script-writers, etc choose characters full of flaws as the lead instead of the dreamy guys. I really want to see a love-story about Ayumi and it better have a happy ending!!!

Main story>>>side story

I really enjoyed the main story between Rio and Tomo...and the pretty art..if anything else. As for the side story, which is the last volume was seriously not to my liking, especially when it got to the last two chapters.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I still can't believe Haruka chose Masami instead of Ayumi..all I can say is that it was the wrong choice in all respects. If anything, Ayumi is a far greater man than his stupid brother, and Haruka is stupid for choosing him. I could of done without this volume if this is how it was gonna end up. I had to skim through the last two chapters, cause I couldn't stand it.

Last two chapters... just no.

I was loving the love triangle and then the last two chapters just killed this story for me. I would of given a 10, but it loses 3 points for the silly, unrealistic ending. I'd still cautiously recommend it if only for the gorgeous art. Why I thought it was a bad ending in the spoiler below.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
A suicidal mental patient with little to no grip on reality suddenly is fine without supervision just because she goes to live with grandma in the country? Seriously? Nobody mentally unfit would be able to file for devorce either, her husband would of had to have done it. The hospital would never let her just wander off after she stabbed her husband, which seemed pretty obvious with even the middle brother working it out so quickly, despite the husbands statement. There would of been an investigation into such an incident and she would of been locked away for her own safety and the safety of those around her. This is just a fairy tale ending for her. And Haruka picking the selfish, mean, rapist who suddenly becomes nice, kind and wonderful at the end? When he had the younger brother waiting, kind, sweet, considerate and never forced himself on him? Maybe Haruka is just a sick masochist... who knows but by the end I didn't even care.
