Intense, long & interesting

I don't usually heed shoujo at all, but out of boredom I decided to check the first chapter of this series to pass some. By the time I got to chapter 4 or so I was completely glued to story. I even pulled out some full nighters, carefully & slowly reading the raws for untranslated chapters, being really interested on what's going to happen next.

Also, while this project is listed as "active" in Shoujo magic there hasn't been a single release in one year. I suppose that the forbidden theme & the huge amount of drama + suffering that's yet to come to the characters doesn't alure the scanlators to bring out a chapter every two weeks.

Since the series really doesn't seem to be completely scanlated any time soon, I'll throw in comments about the ending (from here on the post will be a spoiler, however I don't know how to tag it, si I hope some moderator will properly do so later).

Spoiler (highlight to view)
From volume 9 to the ending the main focus of the series is shifted to their mother's (Yuka) efforts to separate them, the siblings eventually become so feed up with their predicaments that they reveal their relationship to the guests of their omais right in front of the church, trying to break their marriages with Ren & Kyoka, but their mother still won't allow them freedom; the kids secretly agree to meet in Rome to escape from it all. When Kasumi arrives there she can't find Yoshiki, and gets contacted by the police with the message "we need you to verify the identity of a corpse". Kasumi suffers greatly while gathering strength to even see the corpse, sulking in denial... Funerals for Yoshiki are held in Rome and Kasumi breaks up all ties with her mother & every body else, wanting to stay in Rome permanetly.

As some of you my already have guessed, in the aftermath of the service & when everybody is gone, Kasumi was still suffering about this in the place where she first meet with Yoshiki, at which point he shows kissing her, revealing how he used some aquitances to fake his deadly accident, with that said they finally embrace each other enjoying the knowledge that now no one is standing between them, Yoshiki doesn't miss the chance to kindly whisper "I love you". The next scene is a portrait of their marriage, being exhibited as propaganda in a store that sells bridal items.

I know most people reject incest but if people love each other I think they should be together but they shouldn't have kids because of the genetic disorder point of view but adoption is always considered.

I dont think people should disgrace them so quickly because love has no boundries.

Series is very good- bittersweet, drama, and of course love

Tsumi ni

I avoid incest manga at all costs, so I have no idea what I was thinking when I started this manga. By now I fully regret making that decision - not because Tsumi ni Nureta Futari is bad, but because it's addictive! Yes, everything is exceedingly cliche and hackneyed, but it's well-done cliche. Kasumi is a bit stronger and more independent than your typical shoujo ditz, and she doesn't let herself be used or treated like an object. None of the guys are the smut-rapist stereotype. Kitagawa has a great, creative layout technique, which makes her good at portraying emotion and very good at portraying sex without actually showing it.

Still, 18 volumes of this is just too much. I can't imagine anyone could fill that many pages with fresh material. I'm sure that by the 6th volume or so everything will start to feel old.

That's 6 volumes of good times, though.

i really liked it at first but i think it has way too much drama and it just drags on and on and on. it was so long and repetitive, in fact, that i skipped directly to the last volume.
i was, however, satisfied with the happy ending, which i was not suspecting. :)

Romantic over all

This is a good manga, revolving the bittersweet agony of longing for your lover.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Synopsis
It is a very romantic story about love, but it is forbidden to them as they are siblings. They were everyday people with the logical train of thought that incest is unacceptable, until fate played them a trick and cheated them into falling in love.
We read about how they try to reason their feelings for each other, but keeping in mind that the family bond was a new discovery, their heart and mind could not fully understand that they must not be together. But in these situations love burns you whether you do or whether you do not.

Criticism
If it was not for the corny, exaggerated, soap opera melodrama, it would have scored a 9.

Kasumi's intensity is hard to follow emotionally when reading the manga. After a bittersweet ache is sown in your chest, she just keeps on going, pushing it further until it seems like a parody of a soap. I always end up laughing and I can't take it seriously. I wonder if the mangaka wanted it to be a manga version of "Scary Movie", "Epic Movie" etc., because to me it's a comic twist.

OVERALL I love the romance, a lot of drame/plot (at times it is nauseatingly soapy), we understand the characters and the drawing is an 8+.

Themes:
Incest, romance, mature smut, bittersweet, soap opera

I'm not into sibling love at all.. It just seems like it has better drama when it has to do with siblings.. I don't know what's with manga this way but it happens.. On that note this story is very annoying to read.. I was hard pressed to even read it up till this point. Everyone is so annoying besides the brother to me.. He seems to be the only one that is in control of himself. Art is okay.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
a girl is on a seperation vacation and ends up having a one night stand with a guy she just met.. She goes back to japan to discover that the guy is really her brother.. My hey have very awkward moments until they end up hooking up together.. The friend that the sister has ends up sleeping with her and he still has a gf that wants him very much.. From there the brother continues to give up things in his life to be with her.. This is where the story turns out very very annoying.. The sister is such a loose, stupid, idiot woman that she is run over by everyone and keeps running over her brother. She keeps sleeping around. She keeps getting bullied by their mother. She keeps getting taken advantage of.. She has not strong bone in her body. The last chapter so far her brother is stuck in the states cause his ex gf burned his passport and she is about to get raped by the guy that loves her mom.. They all are psychotic.

Kasumi is annoying

I like stories like this, but unfortunately the protaganist's indeciveness and insecurity has been taken to an extreme in this story (to highlight the melodrama aspect, I guess) and it is irritating. 90% of the troubles they face is probably because she couldn't decide what she wanted, who she wanted, and what she was going to do about it. The story would have been a lot better with an emotionally strong and mentally strong female lead. Just because it's melodrama doesn't mean the female lead has to be weak.

And a lot of "No, I can't tell him!" had me screaming "YES YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN" at the page. She's usually not at fault, but she feels like it and it screws with the mood. Oh, and one last thing:
Kasumi should stop being an ass and cheating on Yoshiki with rapey Kazuki.

I remember how I avoided this manga before because I've seen reviews how this one has the NTR feels and such. Surprisingly, I handled it well.. because it didn't affect me at all. Prolly because of the characters. You know how there are some people whose actions contradict their words and there are some who don't. You'd see both. The conflicts in the story are kinda repetitive though but what kept me going is how the two would end up.

If you're the sensitive type, who'd feel too much emotions for the first few volumes, then this is for you. If you aren't, well, still have a read.

Forbidden Love

I liked the beginning. I also think forbidden love is hot. However, These cause of most of the problems is due to the main female being a complete and total whore. I started to dislike her so much that I didn't even want to read any more. After her behavior, you just can't root for her at all anymore. This story is certainly not about a couple of loved each other and stuck with each other until the end trying to overcome the issue together. It was more about just how much pain the she cause him before he has enough.
