I love this manga. One of the best manga I've read. Usually all those big "good" manga people talk about usually get me bored after about 10 volumes. but his one, over 30 volumes. Soo good, stayed up all night reading. My friend introduced this to me last year. I read it during free time at school...I thought it was just a pointless, violence manga with no story line. so I stopped reading it. Another friend recommended it to me. she told me to go over at least 4 volumes. So I did, this manga was unbelievable. Its somehow shows history in a fantasy way. It captures a true picture of those dark times. They story is strong and deep (in a sense of complexity). There is much more to be said about this story. If you decide to read it, don't give up after a chapter or 2, read atleast the 1st 4 volumes.

this manga... what can I say about it ?
it was a great read up until volume 20- and onward, suddanly from a very dark even scary manga it became more like a freaking shounen with comedy and stuff that don't feel right for this manga, IT IS UNNECESSARY, this is meant to be dark and make your blood boil in awe
I hated pukk (the fairy/elf) from the get go, he was just making lame jokes was creating an unwanted atmosphere, but know I have even more to hate, a whole group of people who just decided to follow Guts, how can they even make jokes and laugh while their fighting daemons ?
the author should kill all the other characters except Guts & Caska and continue on, its not even seinnen anymore.
people also say that they didn't like the flashback at the begining of the story... it was better than the stuff thats going on right now

Berserk is easily the grandest of its kind, I have never seen a Monster fantasy series as well developed (Claymore is decent, but in terms of world building, it pales to Berserk for both its complexity and reach). The plot though, I can't say much. This mainly because the author has passed away so most of what he has been building forward is practically now gone forever and I will have to see whether the people who will continue this (if there ever be any) can do justice to everything that has been laid down. And there's pretty much not much thing I can say about the story so far because, frankly it feel standard thing that I have seen
I am growing old.

When will this manga end.....although I like the story and the art, I wish it would end soon, and the mangaka should work on a new story instead of just dragging the same old thing. Its not like the release dates are weekly as well....it's already 31 years now.....

How could i have missed this manga till now? Everything i could possibly ask to see in a manga is mixed in Berserk... sooo BADASS!!!
This manga makes me feel all emotions the hero (Guts) have. The art is epically mindblowing. All this make me classify the author as "pure genius"!
Are you stupid as i was too?

I was a little timid when watching the anime.. I hated the animation style. But as the story continued and the plot thickened i became less and less aware of the crap quality. After it ended and I still had many questions I knew I had to read the manga.
O.O
AMAZING UTTERLY AMAZING!
A very refreshing manga. I like manga a little rough around the edges. I hate the fluffy light highschool drama crap with bunnies and kitties and all that bull. Berserk is a manga LEGEND! I cant stop reading. Every second is like i get one step closer to heaven. I cant wait to finish it! I want to know what happens.
For you BADARSES looking for a BaddArs manga that will make you cream your panties while you slap a kitten this is it. Its just that insanely AWESOME.
Thank you manga god for creating such pure and utter manga perfection.
and Thank you Third grade reading teacher with out you my mind would starve for amazing gory demonic plot lines.

I don't now who rated it lower than 7 (far to low), but that must be either a 8-16 year old girl or a conserned mother lol. This manga is superb. But it is a seinen manga, so if your'e 14 or below, u shouldn't rate it. It's not ment for u. And please don't rate it if u just read the 1st chapter.
And it's imo stupid to compare it to any other mangas such as One Piece. that is for teens 12+. I don't care expaining why that is stupid, 'cause that is imo obvious.
well... that was a lot of nuisance dealt with, he, he...

The beginning is VERY BORING but if you get past that it becomes a masterpiece imo. There is a lot of gore and the plot is very interesting; it always keeps you entertained (not including the beginning).
So not for kids

I started reading this series when I was around 14, and I had to stop, although I read up to everything that was scanlated up to that time. It's a really good series, great art, story, and everything, but I had to keep looking over my shoulder every minute that I was reading this. That's actually the only reason why I stopped, not because of the gore or graphic scenes, but because I kept stressing over the fact that someone was gonna walk in on me reading it ^_^. But I definitely plan on starting it up again. Well this didn't help anyone at all, but just really don't read it if you don't wanna be caught doing so.
