I did like this manga at first.
I loved eimi, its so weird to say i really liked a female character because good ones are so hard to come across. In fact, i liked all the characters except wanichin when i found out he had a girlfriend. That's just how i am. Then it kind of went downhill from there. I mean, I rlly, rlly, rlly liked the other guy: shimo-something. I felt incredibly bad for him...poor guy. It's also weird for me to root for the other guy hahahah. Then there was all that jumping around that everyone was talking about. Man, that was annoying.

It was ok.

Matsumoto Tomo is seriously one of my favourite mangaka. Bijin ga Yajuu was ingenious - the simplistic art, the well-done romance, and the heroine... don't even get me started on her. She is so amazing and endearing I just had to laugh every chapter. I love the quirks of all the characters and this was such a pleasure to read (several times) . Highly recommended!

this manga was probably the first, and so far the only, manga that made me laugh till my stomach and chest hurt. i just LOVE LOVE LOVE eimi. she just made me laugh like no tomorrow. espeacially the part of the dorm promotional video. oh man just thinking about it makes me laugh. her "artistic feel" lol. ok well now that that is out of my system, coming to the manga. putting the ending aside the manga was just pure awesomeness. you just love all the characters. (spoliers ahead) now coming to the end, yes i do agree it was all sudden and could of been wrapped up more properly but it wasn't all that bad. i'm assuming (which is kinda obvious) that they ended up together but, the part i'm assuming is that the child in the end who is now living in the dorm mentioning that her parents are in mexico is eimi and wanichi's (probably spelt his name wrong) child. and as other people complained as to the other couples not being paired up together in the end, to me it just felt like a oneshot within the story and didn't really bother me. but the only problem i did have was that they could of shown eimi and wanichi get together instead of just implying it. and i felt sorry for simone but what can you do. bad boys always win . i still love the manga and as i read someone else write, i do not regret reading the manga AT ALL.

This is one of my personal favorites of all time. And the ending wasn't all that bad, sure it was a bit cut off but not the worst ending I've read.
I love the characters, they're just so awesome. Give it a try.

I really don't get why people complain so much about the ending. My impression of the proper ending was that everything just continues on the same as it always has for the most part. When you look at it that way, the ending really does work well even if it doesn't wrap everything up with everyone properly paired off such that you know how they got together. As for those extra pages that people are complaining about, I almost wish they were just completely left out only because of the amount of negativity they created.

my relationship with this series is a hate/love relationship. i know it was an axed ending, and it tied up everything in a bow (kinda, not really actually) but it just made it seem like everything was resolved in two pages, like a lot of other people were saying. like two magnets were getting sloooooooowly closer and closer, and then suddenly they're together, and you don't even know what happened...... UGH! although i admit, it's a lot better than i was expecting reading the other reviews; it was actually kind of cute.

i think i'm REALLY mad because i was flying through the volumes, and i actually LIKED everything for a rare instance. i wanted more and was denied, i think that's the main issue of the hate?



all in all though, i made me CRACK up. seriously, i was bursting out laughing at the characters and EIMI oh my god was she the most adorable character ever. not dramatic, funny, true to herself, loves food... aww. i think she honestly made the story work for me.

as for the ending... i was debating even reading this because everyone was saying it was so bad, i was thinking.... is it worth it? now, after reading it, and even after all the dissapointments, i am more glad to have read this and been introduced to the characters than not having read it at all. if that means anything!

I can see why some people would be unsatisfied with how it ends, but I don't have a problem with it.



I think that the "two pages" that some people are referring to are actually an epilogue extra pages and not part of the main story. They're not present in the actual scanlations but do appear in the official US English books.

As has been previously stated, great story til the end. It's kind of a shame that the post-story character bio's were posted on parts of the pages that weren't at the end, essentialy spoiling what happened

It is why I gave only 7. The story wasn't bad. The characters were well developed, and the drawing is good. With simple traces the characters were shown as sexy, regular or funny people. But the end...

ok the story was good it was going grate until the last chapter it ended or more like not so good and then the last page ok im confused with that i didn;t get a things with the last page... i think 1 more chapter would have hurt rather then the extra story that was there

ah i now finally get what was the last page was about!!! good thing i read these comments i other wise that last page would have kept me confused for life no matter how many times i would read... though i wouldn't read it again lol
there should have been just 1 more chapter to finish this manga.. what a crapy ending or rushed..
