Pure genius. Also, incidentally, pure crack. Lol @ Jesus and Buddha at the amusement park; Buddha's uncontrollable radiance only put out by thoughts of underwear; Jesus getting mistaken for a yakuza ex-con; Buddha's ears being used as bus-handles lol; the two of them totally failing at comedy skits but desperately trying anyhow.

So much gold in this manga. It's practically a gold-mine. OF LAUGHS. laugh

Agree with Mierten that Mohammed as a third roommate or potential roommate would be EPIC. What a great idea! I also like how this manga in a totally light-hearted way actually encourages religious cooperation. Like the way Buddha and Jesus are best buds and make all these really sweet compromises for each other. (Well, they both are so compassionate... How could they not get along, right?) Lol.

I'm a christian, but I'm not offended by this manga at all. This manga is a comedy, so it's obviously not meant to display Jesus and Buddha 100% accurately. The mangaka is not making fun of Christianity or Buddhism, so there's no need to be uptight. This is a really hilarious "alternate universe" type story, and it made me laugh out loud many times (which is pretty rare for me).

I definitely recommend it; so if you are religious, don't get hung up on whether it's sacrilegious or not (although Jesus and Buddha discussing the length of tinker bell's skirt may be borderline haha) - just read the manga and enjoy it

As I read it, I was thinking: Shame they didn't have Mohammed as an absent 3rd roommate.
This does provide an ousider's view of society without being too serious. Maybe it will encourage readers to find out more to learn where the characters deviate from history.

Gawd, I was literally laughing my ass off reading this manga.

Don't know, but it might offend someone who's really into their religion? But they aren't really portrayed in a negative way at all. So I think it's safe for everyone. I mean you'll just fall in love reading about Jesus and Buddha's everyday life on Earth.

If you're expecting Saint Young Men to portray either Jesus or Buddha accurately, then you're in for a disappointment. It's much less religion-heavy than it sounds. But this also means you should give it a chance even if you're not Christian or Buddhist.
