Description
From Nagareboshi Manga & Manga Abyss:

Ogasawara Aki is the reclusive, idealistic composer of the popular band Crude Play. Discontented with his life and with no drive to succeed, he meets Riko, the 16-year-old grocer's daughter in a band consisting of her childhood friends, and asks her to be his girlfriend on a whim. Riko, young and innocent, agrees immediately, but worries about her new boyfriend, whom she suspects has just broken up with a woman he cared very much for.

Love this new series!

Wow. Compared to Boku wa Imouto and Boku no Hatsukoi, I can really feel where this manga-ka has matured in terms of plot. This manga reads like a novel. The way Aki narrates the manga---it feels very gentle, and surreal. I don't know what it is exactly, but I like the way the story is being told.

As for the characters themselves, I think Aki is a similar guy to Yori(from Boku wo Imouto). They're both incredibly talented(although in different things), and they're both hopelessly, painfully in love(although for different reasons). Riko also reminds me of Iku. Both are cute and outgoing. In fact, in some weird way, I feel like Aki and Riko could be Yori and Iku reincarnated. They're that similar in character.

Anyway, I don't want to say too much about the characters. This deserves some more readership, so I'll just recommend this. This is one new shoujo that shows a lot of promise, so give it a chance if you're tired of all the fluff and want something more solid.

I loved this. Even though there's only been 2 chapters (counting the really short prologue) I really really really want to read more. Like everyone else said, I feel that Aoki Kotomi-sensei has seriously improved - and she wasn't that bad to begin with. I don't know if it's the pacing of the story, the art, the dialogue, the monologues, or what, but this felt really original and refreshing. And EXCITING. Recommended!

Do not judge too early

This is one of those stories in which the relationship dynamics are not developed enough for many to comment on due to the translation speed. Whatever the signs of a love triangle it actually did not show up as a planned trope. The characters are indeed complex, and for the story to slowly reveal the idiosyncrasies of each other as well as a each's shared past, hopes, and dreams, in an evenly paced manga is a great feat. I have been following this manga since its first chapter (at the time of this review on chapter 53) through the raws and it has not disappointed me. The struggles these characters face in the music industry is heart-felt and honest, and one cannot help but get a sense of wonder through Aki's music despite it being unheard. In a sense, this can be called "the pure love story and struggles of Mush & Co. and Crude Play." No reviewer can be certain where the tide takes these characters next, but just hang out for the ride.

To me at least, it's hard to find a manga that is realistic enough with it's characters and lifestyle and still be interesting. I can see where people would call it depressing, but life in general is depressing. I love every thing about this manga. The characters are deep, the plot is captivating and realistic. I understand why some people would say that falling in love at first sight is not realistic, but you can say that it never happened to them. It never happened to me, but I do believe in a strong attraction to someone. Anyways...the art was nice, it might bother some, but the story will make you forget about it. Like I said, this is a rare manga to find that's realistic. And it's not just about love, it's about life in general.. and music smile

This one has all the ingredients that would make me think I wouldn't like the manga, yet I really do. Superstar + normal girl? Showbiz intrigues? Lame, is what I thought. First pages seemed to confirm that.. but then the story actually begins, and I was baffled. Shoujo with actual decent plot formation and great character interconnections? Give it a shot, it's a rare gem.

I love the art, this is probably her best yet...the story line is unique, i think, though probably unlikely in real life. Despite that, i enjoyed the first chapter, in fact i really anticipated it and am continuing to do so. The heroine is cute though you can't see much of who she really is yet...but she seems lovable enough. I'm waiting for the next chapter because i have high hopes for this series. It's good though, i like it. It seems like it'll be very very entertaining.

I prefer the first half of the manga tho, can't put it down, but the ending is way too long and dramatic

Honestly, when I first read this, it was the Chinese version. I bought the manga because I've read Boku no Hatsukoi o Kimi ni Sasagu and it was really nice so I wanted to try this too(actually i was anticipating this series even before it was release as the chinese version one). At that time somehow I just don't really understand as the words are too hard to be understood(for me), so reading it was like killing me. So I dropped it. And now, when I decided to try it again(with the English version), I just can't stop myself! It was just to great! Can't wait for the next release!

It makes me feel depressed...
The characters are complex, too complex in fact and the story-line so far hasn't picked up enough for me to deal with their complex characteristics. Do not read if looking for lightheartedness.
The girl just FALLS in LOVE with this man who is nine yrs older? ON THE STREET?!?!
The story may be original but the love isn't.

Yes! another Aoki Kotomi manga!haha
read up to the fifth chapter, and the story is still trying to develop..
I really can't judge the characters yet, but the art is good and the main girl is so cute. So far, i think the story is still introductory though, but its good.
