I really like the art in this manga, the human figure (either of boys or of girls) drawn in a swimming suit is really nice and here it's is very nicely drawn. The story is not really believable, I mean... there are actually people who, even when grown up, want to start something new, and it's great that you want to start swimming no matter your age (it's something everyone should know how to do) but it's a completely different thing if you want to not just learn how to do it but become a gold medalist doing it when you're about 15 and you have never done it in your life.

I really disliked the personalities of the characters, being so mean with each other all the time, like noone could be open about their feelings or noone could be happy about things that surrounded them.

I would recommend this... if you wanted something really light to read, with a plot based on something quite silly. The art is lovely. XD

This series was really bad. There was no point to it. The plot (if you could even call it that) wasn't anything. The art was beautiful and that was about the only thing going for it. I was so disappointed since I had read this work because Ukyou Ayane was the mangaka and I enjoyed reading her previous work Desire Climax. The main girl was weak. WEAK!
Spoiler (highlight to view)
She can't even swim. And it is like she doesn't even try to learn. And the way she switches the person she likes is just ridiculous. Her mother who is not in her life for sixteen years and finds her useless to her, smiles at the end like "Heh. I knew she could do it."
Just what the heck is that? The ending was completely... >.> Read Galacticon's review for futher details. Do not read it unless you have time to waste.

lololololol what.

that was my reaction to this entire manga. First, as has been pointed out by everyone and their cousin- she can't swim. What is this I don't even. I understand she's a GOGETTEROMGLOL, but that's just stupid. She took a challenge when she couldn't swim. At all. She couldn't even float. That's not bravery, that's being an idiot.

And that's basically what this was filled with- idiocy.

She follows the stereotypical rout of falling MADLY IN LOVE WITH THE APATHETIC MODEL instead of liking the guy who has actually helped her so far (abusive as he may be; what was with that slap).

And then when decides to leave, OH WAIT, NO, I LIED, I LIKE YOU. Comebackplz. It doesn't work that way hon.

But the idiot apparently dogged a bullet, because he basically threw her away in a jealous hissy fit to go train with her bitch of a mother.

Also, her mother is terrible. A smile at the end does not make 16 years of absence and a terrible attitude okay.

So basically, there was no consistency with her feelings. She must have a thing for dudes that don't give a shit about her, because as soon as one starts to like her, she's like, NOWAITIWANTTHEOTHERONE. Wat.
Seriously. Unattainable model that hates you? HOT. Friend that seems to care for you? NAH.
But then he decides she's not worth it (I won't blame him there though, she's not.) and ditches her for his career (I decided he did all the bullet dodging, I wouldn't want to be involved with this idiotic girl either.)
And then Yoji started to care for her, stayed with her the year that Aoi abandoned her, and yet she's still stuck on Aoi WHO SHE DIDN'T EVEN LIKE UNTIL HE DECIDED TO LEAVE.

The art was really pretty, though. I'll give it that.
Like, seriously. The most enjoyable parts where where I became distracted from the horrible plot and shallow characters, because I saw Aoi with his shirt off or something. Pretty, but vapid.

So basically. If you want something pretty that doesn't totally suck from this author, go read Biyaku Cafe. (though I warn you, totally irrational insta!sex occurs, the rest is good.)

everyone is just lazy and lame in here so hate-able changing feelings so easily
and wats with the da mom and the dad and the main 3 characters just cuz of a girl
he leaves the club and join someone cold blooded
if the girl had told him that she liked him im sure he would have left so soon
though he would have left later to train with that looser women.

I was laughing so hard at how bad this series was.

As a swimmer in a swim team for many, many years, I can safely say that it's insanely hard to actually drown in a swimming pool. Believe me, it's not easy. I found it absolutely hilarious the way Nagi started drowning dramatically, and required the cliche rescue of a handsome man. Seriously, even when people have leg cramps, there are LANE LINES EVERYWHERE. It's insanely easy to just grip one of them and stay afloat. Not to mention, if you were to just RELAX YOUR BODY, you would naturally float up (as long as you weren't wearing heavy armor or something). Or, you know, she probably could've just stood up, seeing how normally, even in the deeper parts of pools, they tend not to be THAT deep. What was she doing?! Purposefully forcing herself to stay underwater so she can suffocate?!

Galacticon pretty much said it all...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I still can't understand that Nagi actually couldn't swim at all. When she asked Aoi to swim with her for the first time I thought that she would suprise them or something, but no she is going to drown instead.
Unbeliavable! It doesn't sound that she really wanted to be like her mother.
When she was drowning my mind started to made up all kind of explanations and the best was probably that maybe it's too hard for her to swim in chlorine water because she is used to sea water...
I don't know if that is really possible but this is manga, so...

Spoiler (highlight to view)
At first Nagi liked Yoji but suddenly she liked Aoi. So when that happend? It seems pretty easy for her to change her feelings, so her love must be really weak as is her admiration for her mom...

I know that people change their feelings but i think they need more time than 5 seconds for that.

There was few incident that seem to have nothing to do with the manga. Jus some random stuff which wasn't part of anything. Like the beginning of the manga.

The art was pretty so that gives higher rate.

The art was really good. The story started out well and then just got bad at the end. The girl was acting pretty stupid and got very annoying. The ending was rushed and although the story was only 2 volumes, I could have thought of a lot better ways to end the story than how it was ended.

I don't really read manga that are horrible so the lowest possible score I could give a manga I have read is a 5, it's not great but it was okay enough for me to finish the story.

Art- 10
Story- 5
Overall - 6

If you want a nonsensical moronic story, look no further. This is the story for you. Read Galacticon's review further down if you want details. Suffice it to say, she was much more generous with this idiocy then I can be. This deserves and receives a 1. If I could rank it lower, for polluting my mind with its stupidity, I would. Don't even bother with this one unless you are completely and totally desperate.

Alright so i expected something better since its the mangaka who wrote desire climax but.. It was kinda like "OH MY GOSSSHH I'M STARTING TO LIKE THIS MANGA!!" to "hmm i wonder what's going to happen" then finally "what? that's it?" LOL. so all in all.. its cute butttt shoulda been longer.. it had potential

Wow that was stupid

Wow. What a waste of time. -.-
Where to start... Well, first off, ALL of the characters suck. All of them. Although I did start to like Yoji and Aoi later on, it was because they were so different from when they were introduced. Aoi was introduced beating people up (abusive boyfriend, much?), which, btw, had NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING. It is not explained later, and there is no further hint of him being a violent guy later on (except when he SLAPS HER, ugh, I agree with soulgrrl that that was disgusting). Yoji... is just a complete dick.

Okay, on to the girl, Nagi. She's a dumbass. I tried to like her, I really did, but she's just so freaking stupid, naive, and.. upbeat. She's so confident that she can do all these things, but she really, really can't, and she just ends up humiliating herself. I wish she'd just take herself more seriously and get a real swim coach and learn on her own. She also tried to fill the pool with a small bag of salt so that she could float better. Way to go, dumbass!

And she can't swim? REALLY? That completely blows my mind. She's supposed to have swum a lot alone on the island. WHAT WAS SHE DOING EXACTLY IF SHE CAN'T ACTUALLY SWIM? Just standing in the water?! And if she really wanted to swim so badly because of her mother, you'd think she'd just, I don't know, TAKE SWIMMING LESSONS. Hire a freaking swim coach, you sorry excuse of a human being!! Jesus Christ! And if her not being able to swim had anything to do with some swimming accident, it could've been explained a little better than just showing her almost drowning in the beginning. (Still don't know what that's about.)

So she wants to swim now so she can meet her mother (don't see how these two connect, but whatever, willing suspension of disbelief), so she begs this jerk Aoi. Way to go. If she was really serious about swimming she'd just take some goddamn lessons, but instead she begs this violent dickwad of a guy who clearly doesn't give a crap about teaching her. Aoi changes for the better, I'll admit, but what was that at the end?
Spoiler (highlight to view)
He actually leaves to train with Nagi's dick of a mother? What about his friends, and his ~*~*love*~*~ for Nagi? Christ, he's a dick.

Yoji is even worse. I wasn't expecting him to be an actual good guy, but I certainly wasn't expecting Nagi to actually tolerate him, must less fall for him.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
He tells her outright that he doesn't care about her, and he was just using her. He "dumps" her, in Nagi's words (though they were never actually together). So why, WHY does Nagi go on a date with him later? And right after he USES her to piss of Aoi (he admits this, too)? Why does she still like him?!??! Why does she still invite him to the swim club, when no one clearly wants him there? WHY DOESN'T SHE HAVE ANY FREAKING BACKBONE?!

Okay, so Yoji changes for the better later on, too. Inconsistency with the characters, but if they become more likable, then I guess I don't mind. So if Aoi is away for a year off being a traitor to everyone around him, and Yoji is so graciously teaching Nagi how to swim, why didn't Yoji and Aoi just get together? Seemed only natural to me, especially since they apparently both like(d) each other. 8|

Nagi's mother is a jerk, too. I don't know what else to say, I just find it hard to believe a mother can disregard her child that much. Why did she have children in the first place? Being pregnant certainly wouldn't have helped her swimming, which she cares about oh so much. Her mother being a jerk was just completely unnecessary. It would've been better if she was just a normal mother who actually loved her child.

Plus, in the end Nagi has been taking swimming lessons for a year, and she's just learned how to breathe above water. REALLY?! So not only does Nagi not know how to swim in the beginning, but she actually COMPLETELY SUCKS AT IT. Nice one, Nagi!

I didn't give this a 1 because, I have to admit, there was some chemistry between Nagi and Aoi. The art was okay too, although the heads were too big. But the overall plot was boring, the characters were infuriating, and it's really just not worth it. Oh, and it doesn't really have an ending either.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
She throws a small fit when he comes back, quickly forgives him for ditching her for a year, they kiss, and then he leaves again. They never really get together.

I guess that's it. It sucked, don't read it.
