From Dark Horse:
His name is Guts, the Black Swordsman, a feared warrior spoken of only in whispers. Bearer of a gigantic sword, an iron hand, and the scars of countless battles and tortures, his flesh is also indelibly marked with The Brand, an unholy symbol that draws the forces of darkness to him and dooms him as their sacrifice. But Guts won't take his fate lying down; he'll cut a crimson swath of carnage through the ranks of the damned - and anyone else foolish enough to oppose him! Accompanied by Puck the Elf, more an annoyance than a companion, Guts relentlessly follows a dark, bloods... More...

the best manga ever
Perfect manga in every aspect.
This one is just too awesome. The storyline, the heroes, the artwork everything is just to unique and cool. This one is a MUST read.
one of the best in every aspect, great storyline, character development, art, action, cool looking creatures and scenery. it has gore, and lots of it, but its not used in a way that it is its only redeeming quality, it adds to all. basically this is a must, unless u like sports manga, or gay stuff like pokemon
Really like this, I dont worship it like I do other manga tho (or other people this manga)
but I enjoy reading on to find out what is gonna happen to Guts & Caska (Im up to volume 21 now)
The sidestories dont interest me that much tho (unless they eventually are a part of something bigger), but truth be said, only one I read was about the elves and that one had a cool "sick" aspect to it.
And thats probably my favorite part about Berserk, how it turned to into a "fairly" normal medievel story about 3 people, into a SICK a

best story ever read..and the drawing is really amazing
The story and characters make Berserk better than any other series :D. It's an epic story and the art is very good.
Action scenes are very well detailed and all sort of weapons too, Berserk is simply the best.
Fighting the demons and all sort of strong enemies is great and all the characters are deeply emotional.

Berserk is in a category by its own, there is no other fantasy manga (or even no other manga at all) that is this good.
Artwork: Unique and seemingly western-influenced. Was good to begin with but has gotten even more detailed.
Plot: Epic struggle against fate and God himself (the Idea of Evil). Tragic tales of friendship, love, betrayal, comeradry, and years of struggle. As an age of darkness is about to descend on the world, Guts and his band are doing their best to survive. The story goes all the way back to Guts' birth and his mercenary childhood, as well as his unique "friendship" with Griffith, who has come to be something no other man can ever be. All the while there is still comic relief (and without it, the story would be rather depressingly dark).
Characters: All characters develop emotionally and physically and come to their own resolutions in the course of the manga. Most of the characters are rather unique.

the best ive ever read or watched
Nice story. I liked it best when it mostly involved human fighting and less monsters. I hate the comic relief characters, and sometimes the story just devolves into monster of the week pointlesness
