The whole thing makes *me* feel anxious. What others have said about the story taking a wrong turn is correct for me. It feels like some weird torture play in the least sexy way possible. I feel terrible for Shirotani the whole time. My skin is absolutely crawling for him because Kurose is just awful and disrespectful. He really goes out of his way to do things which cross the line and abuse his partner and I have never been a fan of that(in manga or otherwise).
Like some of you, i'm disappointed

I liked it at first. Takarai's art sure is beautiful and the plot seems interesting. But i feel like she's trying too hard to make it smutty, S&M. And i seriously don't like it. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE dark, S&M, dramatic yaoi but this makes me uncomfortable because everything just develope too quickly
I will still read it though

I always love her works and I'm really excited to find this.
The phobia, I don't know much about the actual one, but I think it's portrayed pretty nicely, though maybe not real enough. But as everyone pointed out, starting volume 2 it became a disappointment. I don't like how Kurose
And surprisingly, Shirotani too
And like that, suddenly it become one of those cliche-smutty-yaoi, with no real plot. If I want read smutty stuff, I would pick a really smutty title, not a supposedly fluffy story like this.
I think Rihito-sensei tried too hard too make a smutty yaoi. I love how she is really good at making a slow paced story and the characters are well developed. If this keep on, I would prefer she goes back writing shonen-ai stuff than yaoi. This way a good concept will go in vain because of your attempt to make a "yaoi"
I'll still read it, for the art though.

I get that your feeling start wavering after meet Kurose. But is that a reason for not rejecting him touching you all over? And you even said something like "taint me more". wtf?!

I'm so so disappointed of the way this story is heading... I have a high expectation on the beginning and because I really like this author I believed this will be great story. But this one, since the volume 2, is just great disappointment and I have to steadily lower the rating with every new chapter >_<

I was first intrigued with the possibility of slowly and carefully trying to treat a severe phobia, not realizing that this was yaoi. I was definitely sucked into the characters Kurose and Shirotani. The side characters also add a surprising amount of depth. I look forward to how Takarai-sensei will expound on "curing" mysophobia.
But wow. They are both super hot, and chapter 14 is the sexiest chapter ever in the history of manga. -dies-

The story takes a wrong turn when we reach the second volume. When a character who was barely given any shadow of a personality at all in the first round of chapters still manages to lose his credibility, then we have a problem. I feel that the author was so anxious to set the plot moving that she rushed in and over did it, really. There's no way I would root for a person like Kurose to win over his case. Not that Shirotani-san was all that lovable either (so inconsistent for a guy with such a troublesome problem) but hey, at least he was just minding his own business.
Some reviewers have pointed out that the phobia per se is well portrayed in this story. Well, I wouldn't know about that but I sure can point out a bad doctor when I see one. For starters, I have a very hard time believing a doctor who straightforwardly affirms that "love is a kind of dependence". Was this a hint for the audience? Are we suppose to feel that Kurose is mentally-unstable or something, that he can become a problem later in the course of the story? Because, if not that, than this is just bad dialogue. Then, of course, we have the total disregard for his patient's condition:
The beginning was alright I guess. Some things could have been done with differently to ease the pace and the mood but, overall, I was having fun. However, the whole thing completely falls apart as we go. Even the art is iffy. I've seen way better from Rihito-sensei.
I will continue reading it just to see if Kurose turns out to be a serial killer or not but that's pretty much it haha.

The sex assault. Does this even need to be said? It's was distasteful, the attempt, the location, the mood-- argh-- all of it

This manga wow. I couldn't stop reading, it really drew me in. I've seen the whole OCD I hate germs concept many times, and they didn't portray it will in my opinion. But sensei gave Shirotani a specific personality and stuck with it, even as Shirotani's character grew and changed there was always that one action that made me say "ahh he still has a long way to go". And the art was perfect! I anticipate more.

This manga has a really good concept! Now the thing that kinda bothers me is the fact that Shirotani has Mysophobia. Not the obvious fact that he has mysophobia, but the way she portrays it doesn't seem so realistic. Having any kind of phobia is a big deal and the "treatment" he's going through in the manga isn't so professional. I know that this is only a manga, but she should have put herself in the characters shoes to fully understand how terrifying it can be. Asides from that, I'm looking forward to see how the manga unfolds itself.
EDIT: It's been two years now since i've been reading ten count and this comment needs some updates on what i currently think. The complexity of the characters is done really well. Shirotani is given a backstory that shows why he's become a mysophobic person and seeing his past through the eyes of an innocent child was shitty. And by shitty, i mean it sucks that he had to go through that kind of situation. Now kurose is an interesting character who also deals with some kind of trauma. He doesn't want shirotani to end up like the person he used to care for in the past and it's definitely taken a toll on his emotions. He still doesn't know how to act around someone like that and has troubles with controlling his sadistic nature. I can tell he truly cares for shirotani tho and it's sweet. There's been a small amount of development in the story so we're getting somewhere, slowly but surely.
When reading, you'll pick up on
EDIT: The Ending.

Shirotani's change in behaviour and how he's developed a lusty nature towards kurose. The way he wants kurose to "taint" him and do many sexual acts with him really shows that S&M factor. It's not that overpowering compared to other S&M manga, but it's visibly there! He feels disgusted at the thought of touching another person, but with kurose.. he's confused. He still feels disgusted but wait, IS THIS FEELING ALSO DESIRE?! Why yes.
Anyways, i still adore the fact that Takarai-sensei added a mysophobic character to a yaoi story. It's really unique. Her art style has greatly improved over the years and man, i love it.EDIT: The Ending.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
There was a lot left to be desired for. We could've witnessed shirotani and kurose's relationship develop more, seen an interaction between shirotani and his father to get complete closure instead of one phone call, and i really wanted to learn more about kurose's mysophobic friend from the past. Kurose seen him at the book signing and yet the guy didn't even recognize him until it was too late. :/ Overall the ending felt rushed and ended in a way where maybe takarai-sensei will add a few extras here and there. I'm still happy i stood by this manga for years and i will miss reading it.

edit: changed my mind, this is essentially fifty shades of gay
Well, mysophobia varies from each person who has it. First of all, the art is beautiful as always. I do appreciate how much thought was put into representing mysophobics. But...
1) I were touched a doorknob with my bare hands, there's no way I'd be able to do anything without first washing my hands. I wouldn't want to contaminate my belongings. The thought of the possibility of someone having scratched their crotch and then touched the knob terrifies me. There's also no need to be able to touch it if I could just use my sleeve or the cloth on my shirt.
2) In my case, I can function fine in daily life. I'm fine with touching most things that I believe don't have a high concentration of germs. I feel no need to change, but even if my condition were as bad as Tadaomi's, there's no way I'd want to change. I'd think, "it can't be helped, because there will always be gross people on this earth. They should change instead, or move far away from me and anything I'll ever touch".
3) That said, exceptions do occur. At least for me, some of my friends keep themselves cleaner than most people, and I'm fine with hugging them. (Hand-holding, not so much.) And there have definitely been people I'd be more than fine with kissing.
By the way, I HATE groups that do ugly coloured versions of title pages without providing the original. They should've just left it to Canis Major, which does much better typesetting (dear god the typesetting is abysmal) and their lineart is much less over-levelled. And had much less grammatical errors.
I'm looking forward to the next chapters, but I can't help but feel I'd enjoy it a lot more if Canis Major did the scanlations again. I haven't seen group scanlation work this bad since Attractive Fascinate.

This is really cute! The concept is similar to the author's other work, "Seven Days", except instead of counting days it's counting off the items on his list.. But yea, so far i'm really liking this one, and the art is gorgeous
