Since a lot of people liked the match up between Kira and Zero. I wanted to know which of their powers you'd choose to have if you were given the choice.

Honestly, I'd never be able to figure out something useful to do with a death note. I've never felt the need to kill anyone. Mind control can always come in handy, even if I'd feel guilty overusing it.

This is so easy. Obviously the notebook. How do you get caught for writing down names in a freaking notebook. Oh wait if you are a retard like Kira.

The notebook is better because it has range and you don't have to be anywhere near danger. Plus if you erase the name and the person comes back to life.

Are we talking a command Geass or just a Geass in general? Because the powers change by person, the general would leave a sense of unpredictability.

Either way, it's definitely the Geass. Using a Death Note to its full extent would be far too taxing on the mind of a sane person (and that's actually proven in one of the oneshots), and since I am not a sociopath, it would be useless for me. Command would be extremely useful in a larger variety of situations as well.

Plus, I'd take C.C. over a shinigami any day.

Kira wasnt a retard he was a freaking genius, its just that his opponents were geniuses too. And where did you get the idea that erasing the name brings a person back to life? From that oneshot? Nothing brings someone back to life after their name is written in the death note. Also, death notes can only kill, geass can do many things. Like Crenshinibon said a normal person would be driven insane by the death note. And also if you consider the many types of geasses, it is way more useful than a deathnote, stopping time? reading minds? controlling peoples thoughts and memories?

Agreed Kira....well he started off pretty cool but de-evolved into a nutter.

I love the darker tone of DN but I can see myself watching Geass over and over.

Death Note is amazing because of the originality of it. Death Note has both good art in the manga and in the anime. While Code Geass has great animation but lacks in the manga...

Just a side note--but I am both a Code Geass and Death Note fan...=)

Well I'd chose the note simply b/c not only could you still control people you hate and/or just want dead, but you could kill them in the process.

i dont see a need for the death note, there can't be dat many people u wanan kill.
u got the geass u can change the way they think, mold them into a person who's not a problem.

the death note will turn a person into a sociopath, it'll make them end up seeing people's lives as no more than a list of names in their book.

Well if you think about it, the Geass also has the ability to kill people, so the only other advantages to the Death Note is that you don't have to be looking the person in the eye in order to kill them--but then again you'd have to find out their name, and you don't need that for the Geass ^_^;.

And honestly, I think being able to give commands other than "Die" would be useful

dude i know kira was a retard because i would never have been caught. I am here sitting in my dorm and if i started writing names in a notebook, how the hell would anyone anywhere ever find out where i was and how i was killing people. Kira is super dumb.

Which oneshot? I only know of one official one and that wasn't mentioned so, that's most likely not a real rule. And Light wasn't "retarded" or "super dumb", he just had a god-complex and wanted people to get suspicious about the seemingly random deaths.

Anyway, yeah the Death Note does turn you into a cold shadow of your former self, but you could do a lot of good while it happens (>_>). I mean how many serial killers, rapists, and other violent or malicious people are you gonna meet face to face. Not to mention you would eventually be found out seeing as the Geass is a lot less discrete than the Death Note.
