This may sound like a over-asked question, but I am kind of curious... which genre(s) of manga do you read more often?
Also, do you think it's true that shoujo manga is particularly aimed at women and has consequently, a higher percentage of female readers and that shounen is more aimed at men, having more male than female readers (this does not mean women can't read shounen and men can't read shoujo. Just that usually they don't tend to)? Or do you believe these distinctions are wrong and these genres are equally read by both men and women?
Personally, I think that while women can read shounen (of course) they tend to be more interested in shoujo. I, for one, never really got interested in shounen manga (got one or two titles I like). I think that all that fighting is terribly boring.
Opinions?

Action Adventure... Love those genres.
Well, if I'm correct, I think shoujo means something along the lines of 'for girl' and shounen means something along the lines of 'for boy'. This would seem to indicate that more girls would read shoujo, and more guys shounen. Honestly I've read some good shoujos before, and I've read some good shounens. It really doesn't matter that much to me when I choose what to read. However, I do usually look for something that is action adventure.

I dont really care about genres.
I'm openminded enough to read anything.
But I guess I prefer slice of life stuff; and comedy. But I'm very picky when it comes to comedy.

Shounen romantic comedy + ecchi/hentai
I'm a sucker for a love story. It always makes my heart beat.

I never really pay much attention to the genre of a manga or anime, and dont particularly prefer one genre over another. As long as the story as an interesting plot and good characters then I'll read it..... although I have never read yaoi or shounen-ai stuff.

first of all i hate the standard superpower or mecha manga... is there anything more boring... especially including superkids gah.. stuff like naruto, dbz makes me sick
of course as a guy i hate everything including even the slightest touch of shonen ai... or sparkling bishonen... except prince yuki
i like shoujo manga as long as it keeps up interchanging between sad and funny moments, there i even can endure some sparkling bishonen, hana yori dango and furuba e.g. belong to my favourites
i also like seinen/psychological
my absolute favourite genres are samurai/historical (e.g. vagabond) and shoujo-ai
however, it all pales in comparison to a good comedy manga, cause i think you get the best time out of reading if you can laigh or at least keep smiling all the time (azumanga daioh/school rumble etc)

I like seinen (vagabond, berserk, etc) and shonen basically (since there are only four basic japanese catagories: shonen, seinen, shoujo and josei). With in those, i tend to enjoy the more action oriented titles with horror, mystery or martial arts/samurai stuff thrown in there

I love seinen which includes (Adult/Ecchi/Action) as well as Psychological titles, one great example would be Akumetsu (so badass! xD)
But in the end Mecha still prevails for me, I'm a diehard and loyal fan to Amuro Rei and RX-78

Isn't this in another topic oh well, who cares.
I read most Seinen too. Mostly shonen and seinen in fact. Sometimes a shoujo comes along too, but thats rare. I like action, horror, adventure and comedy as well (most likely sug-genres to seinen and shonen).
Most important for me however is the arts. But good arts doesn't equal good story...
