If I could draw my own comics, I would go from left to right because that's natural for me. People who try to draw comics from right to left in order to mimic manga are seriously missing the point.

Does it matter? The original way is the best way. I hated the way some distributors flopped some mangas to please western readers. Blade of the Immortal for instance.

Left to right. I was born reading left to right so if everything was done that way, it would be nice. It's easier for me to turn the page that way too.
right to left. why? because that was the way i have read manga since i was a wee little brat.

I'm just gonna copy/paste the news post:

The whole point of this poll is to choose the option you'd prefer in the situation that YOU can choose that the original source reads left to right / right to left. As in would you prefer everything to be always done left to right, just like American comics? Or the reverse where everything is like manga?
The issue is if you could draw and create your own stories, would it read left to right or right to left?
(And I'm gonna bet over 90% of the people who vote in this poll will never understand the actual reason for this...and will instead vote for "right to left" because it's "pure")

Hmm, I voted for right to left and I wouldn't have said my reason was because it's pure as mentioned in the quoted text above. But I think if someone is making their own manga, they are making like Japanese comics or manga and not like Western comics. So, they might as well draw it like the Japanese do, right to left.

Hm, to be honest? I think it'd depend purely on which language it's to be published in, at least originally.
Oh, and the person earlier who said Blade of the Immortal is flipped? Actually...it's not: the panels are physically rearranged, and when that can't be done, redrawn. This was, from what I understand, at the mangaka's request -- I don't know if it is because the mangaka merely preferred it to having the pages flipped, or if it's because the mangaka prefers that to have the direction of panel flow match that of the language it's being published in.
However, I can actually understand the logic of the second possibility: if I feel that the direction the eye goes in at any given point is important for my story, then yes, I would definitely want it to match what my expected readers would find 'natural'--even if that meant I sometimes had to entirely redraw pages expressly for a foreign-language edition.
And then I'd be cruel, and take full advantage of the chance to fix anything I thought I'd gotten wrong in the original page, since hey, why should I retain mistakes when I have the perfect chance to fix them?

I chose Right-Left because I read more manga than manhwa, although I like reading manhwa much more than manga. .__.
But it doesn't matter... Although the way manhwa/manga are written in, should be left alone. I sorta hate it when the publishing companies mess too much with the manga/manhwa just to 'appeal' more.

I don't know.
I'm used to reading manga right to left, so that feels comfortable to me.

you should put an "either way choice" at the poll... cuz for me either way is fine... i grew up with learning literacies that start from left to right and right to left.

"either way" is not the same with "don't care" ^_^

This is to force you to choose which you would prefer...polls are useless with middle ground options...

For comics, right to left. It's been ingrained into my system (manhwa sometimes makes my brain very confused).
For novels, left to right.
