I'm 24 and I have no intention whatsoever of getting married. I'd like babies though!

The world people create within their relationships are like different planets distended from the outside world, so although you may have heard horror stories, there's always three sides to these situations.

I'm not trying to criticize your views on marriage, but rather saying that you shouldn't use other people's experiences as a meter for your own life.

Sorry, I don't gamble on freedom.

Sums it up pretty well... though that opinion will probably change as I am heading into my late 30s...

Well I'm not really ready for marriage, but I am dating so it isn't like I won't till I'm thirty or something.

I wouldn't get married to save my life. Not only is it unnecessary, its a waste of money. And it costs too much when you get divorced, which you probably will.

And I think it's banned for me where I live anyways.

I'd really rather avoid marriage.

First I will assume you mean a marriage where it stems from the love for the other partner. If that is the case, I would only get married if the other person wished it. I have no strong feeling on marriage one way or the other. If I felt the other person would be more comfortable being in a long term relationship with me if we were married then I would marry. On the other hand, if left up to me I would probably not worry about such titles. Though I would seriously consider getting a marriage license, if only for the convenience under the law (taxes, children, etc) .

I would not date a person with the intention of marrying them though, I think that kind of thing should evolve naturally. Though that raises the next question: If your not dating with the intention to marry then what are you dating for? I suppose many people will say it is to have a good time. Or perhaps for the sex or security or experience. Though in my case its probably to avoid the loneliness that sometimes comes from being without someone, and the sexual frustration that accompanies it.
