i think that even before starting projecting the motors and the shoes, the cushion and suspension system should be decided, sinche that's the part that will prevent the rest of the "AT" from breaking after the first jump.
said that i really would like to hear an expert said in this matter, because i really don't think that a motorized rollerblade could match an average skater's speed. the main advantage would come from vertical traction, sinche the push would come from the rollerblade and not from the skater, but still, climbing up above 2 or 3 meters would be dangerous for both the skater and the AT <_<
the project as a whole is awesome tho. when i walk around in my town i always think of the incredible number of trick i could do if i had an AT XP

no wonder it didn't work. a typo. lol
here. try this one. it work.

oh yeah. just ask your dad wether the engine can support human weight or not, speeding while carrying human mass(60 to 70 kg). etc etc. ya know, about air trek.

hello ppl i'm also a AT fan, but I think the best type of engine for the prototype would be something like this on a much smaller scale: http://www.revopower.com/the_wheel.html
I say this because I don't think any kind of eletric motor would be powerful enough to suport us moving

i think if you could reproduce the effects of that one the smaller scale then that would probably be the one of the best options right now. but i maintain my stance that this is probably not the smartest thing to do with the technology available presently. Oh well, just try not to kill yourselves and good luck.

ahain before even considering the whole "let's get this thing moving" you have to consider the "let's keep this thing moving".
that means that you have to work on the AT durability (engine won't break nor overheat, find a way to fuel it, work on the chassis/shoes materials) and more than anything else on the user. can really a person skate in safety at over 40-50 km/h?
usually that speed are reached only by pros, that know how to handle themselves, building a thing that'll give a kid a chance to reach those speed without control (you haven't talked about brakes yet) it's dangerous. plus you have to put into the equation the "air" in air trek, and design a cushion sistem that can fit a motor, not a motor that is allowed by a cushion sistem. otherwise we'll all just stick to flame road, dash forward a 200 or so meters and then hit a wall X(

i was thinking to let us at 1st go about 10-15 mph just so we can test it out
then like in the show we modify it to become faster
hey just think about it we could be the next sport

instead of making actual rollerblades why not make something you attach to shoes for a start because thats a lot less expensive.

but then we would have to make it it extends and decends
and so that it can become wider just incase
and its more work
but it is a good idea

um what do you mean by extend and descend. and i dont think it would be more work the making a rollor blade with the motor built in cause then you'd have to design the shoe part too and have to order specialized parts.

What exactly are we trying to accomplish? Aren't we just making motorized roller blades? I would like to help out but I am not that familiar with the manga.

I have a theory the difference in the pressure applied to the front end and rear end of an AT may cause it to accelerate/deccelerate. I know there's this machine that you can ride and it goes depending on how you lean on it. For example if I lean forward it goes forward and vice-versa.
