There's a reason people hate/dislike manga with really good art but cliché plot/storyline.

Most mangaka are both the artist and the author. But I've seen a number of artist-author mangakas become the artist for another author's work, and the content is so dry that I'm disappointed so far... not to say that all of these works are bad (just a generalisation)
