I love veggies a lot smile but I still need meat in my meal.
It's not easy to be a vegetarian. I'm just too lazy for that.

What's rude is none vegetarian people saying vegetarians are weird, unnatural, missing out, or actually teasing them by saying well if you don't eat meat I'll just kill a bunch of animals. Seriously STFU. Obviously if you're just saying I can't see myself go without meat, you are NOT being rude. But people who are like haha you like animals or haha omnivores are scientifically stupid and weak. How rude can you be? Some people don't see animals as a source of food or maybe they can control their primal instinct and stay meat-free for life and not lust after every burger they see but can't have. Just because someone's a little different from you doesn't give you a right to be rude

Personally, I feel as if man was made to eat meat. That's not to say that when done right, being a vegetarian is unhealthy, just that it's harder to be healthy and a vegetarian. The only time I'm offended by it is when parents force their kids to be vegetarians becasue that will affect the rest of their lives. If they want to grow up and eat a burger, they don't have the necessary proteins to digest meat.
Anyway, even if I wanted to go meat-less, I probably couldn't since vegetarian diets rely so heavily on peanuts.

I heard something like vegans have 4% risk of heart disease, vegetarians something like 15% and meat eaters like 40 or 50. And being a vegetarian is actually healthy I don't even know where you got your statements from.

I'm not a vegetarian, but i can only eat chiken and fish. If i eat pork or beef meat, than i can visit the porcelain god. Vegetarianism is not really healthy, because our body needs some esential proteins that can only be found in meat.

Vegetarianism is healthy and their are meat alternatives. Not only directed at you, but people need to do more research before they talk down to others about their choice.

for safer surfing: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Vegetarianism
for everyone else: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism

there is no "is better than" in either directions. it depends on the individual. a vegetarian can live as unhealthy as everyone else. mindlessly eating stuff is usually bad. both kind have their up and downsides but neither is unable to live healthy.

one thing i heard once and cannot back up at the moment and cannot be arsed to look for: there're people with metabolisms that are intolerant towards vegetarianism. but that's the same as people being intolerant towards lactose, gluten or fructose

Actually, the human body is not made to eat meat, our stomach acids are lots of times weaker than an actual carnivore ones.

The human stomach is more acid than herbivores stomachs so we can eat cereals too, basically the human body is made to digest fruits and cereals.

We eat meat since prehistory because it was impossible for that time society to survive with an herbivore diet, since our body is much more complex than normal herbivores and needs a much varied diet.

A proof that what I said is real is that a human that only eats meat will die in months with intestinal problems(since our stomach can't digest meat properly).

Another fact worth mentioning about the nutritional value of meat is that, since or stomach can't digest meat properly, only a part of it's nutrients is availed.

Being ovo-lacto vegetarian is actually very easy, I don't know why people think it's hard at all. none

Eat a variety of fruits, veggies, grains, legumes, etc. plus eggs & dairy and you're all set. Some people have problems with low iron if they don't eat meat, but it's not that common, and if you eat eggs & dairy that covers the vitamin B & complete protein as well. If it was really very much work being vegetarian, I wouldn't have lasted 16+ years as a vegetarian. eyes

Aside from any personal preferences, producing meat for human food uses up a LOT more resources than producing non-meat human food, so even cutting down on meat consumption is good for the environment.

I'm a vegetarian. It has nothing to do with me thinking killing animals is "wrong" (thanks so much for those quotation marks) and everything to do with the way we kill animals now.

There is a lot of torture involved in raising many animals that we eat. Although it's not true in every case, it's true in so many cases that it is unlikely that, even if you think the animals who are in your meat were treated well, they actually weren't.

Also, people today kill far too many animals than necessary and rely on meat far too much. It's just not healthy to have too much meat in your diet.

Plus, meat disgusts me. smile Though that isn't one of the important reasons.

I'm a vegetarian have been for a while now. Don't really have a huge reason why i just thought that it would be a better diet for me and a bit cheaper as I was a poor student when I started, and bell peppers and cabbage are a lot cheaper then steak. I t was not really hard for me to stop eating meat i just kinda did it one day even though I ate meat for like 18 years, i'm the only vegetarian that is in my circle of friends and i don't care at all if other people eat meat, this was my choice and and i don't force it on others,. The worst part is that people make fun of me for not eating meat, because i guess it makes me less of a man or something lol. Anyway to each his own biggrin

I am, and always will be, a meat eater.

Honestly, for some reason discussions involving vegitarianism, always seem to end up like a religious debate (intentional or otherwise) in that someone will always try to show how one side is superior (in this case either ethically or medically) to the other. It gets kind of tiresome, really...
