Holy shit, some people are waaaaay into this crap. Seriously, what the hell.
In keeping on topic, neither are cool. Wolves in general suck because the weeaboo and furry community have adopted them as their icon animals, and vampires used to be cool when the they stayed out of sunlight and had stakes driven through their chests.

Newsflash; neither exist.

I like werewolves better, they don't need special food, they can live relatively well within society, but they can definitely still kick ass. They have naturally longer lifespans, and I think that they can work well with members of their own species.
Hmm... with all of these regenerative abilities, do you suppose they're susceptible to cancer and stuff like that?
Other than that, it's just that vampires get way too much attention

Maybe they don't exist in the mythological form as being discussed. But they do exist in a way. Or atleast vampirism does. Though they seem to frown upon Sanguinary vampires

The answer is quite easy, vampie and werewolf fight until dawn, vampire dies because of the sunlight and werewolf becomes man..

I'll go with vampires.

The things you've written on both...
Well, there are so many legends and myths that conflict and contradict each other, that mentioning all that is kind of pointless...
Everybody knows what vamps and werewolves are, that's why I think it was not needed.
Also, everybody can choose what sides and parts of the myths to believe in.

Maybe you were making your point that you like the wolves better, but still~

I was making a point of how overrated vampires are and how underrated Werewolves are...

For example, If I where to ask if Werewolves could use magic most if not all would say they couldn't, but hello they could, and actually in many legends they were powerful mages and witches that formed a pact with a Demon in order to achieve immortality (since werewolves don't age naturally this was the closest to true immortality that a human could get)

What truly annoys me is how Literature often puts Werewolves as the servants of Vampires, how the hell this came to be? is quite clear that folk legends never said that, and is also clear that a werewolf doesn't need the help of a vampire (They are in essence still human, and so they can blend much more easily than a rotting corpse (Undead Ghoul), or a Pale sick looking person (Vampire), heck even the Cool looking Vampires would have a hard time blending in, I mean If he ever went close to the water people would notice he had no reflection)

Another thing that Annoys me is the misconception that Werewolves can only transform with Full moon, when is quite clear that in most (if not all) legends they could transform whenever they wanted to, even the Werewolves that Had the CURSE, could transform at will or at the very least when they had a Rush of negative emotions (THE HULK comes to mind) even if they had little control of what happened afterward... however, literature and vampires fans in the last 80 years managed to downgrade werewolves to a point in with no one can believe Powerful Wizards exchanged their souls in order to become one... but yes is easier to believe that any wizard would exchange their soul to become a vampire right?

Another NEWS Flash for all of you

Normal Humans Exchanged their Soul in order to become Vampires.
(Normally when they were about to die)

Wizards and Witches Exchanged their souls in order to become Werewolves.
(Because Wizards and Witches were always greedy and always wanted more)

So if we use this scale is quite easy to see with one is the premium demon deal and with one is in the stand of 50% off.

Kinda easy to think of were the whole werewolves are servants comes from.

Vampires are said to be able to glamour one type of animal, maybe even being able to turn into it. This glamour then on the were-animal they could control.
So control wolves became also controling werewolves. Control cats became controling werecats.

And you can't newsflash anything, since those are myths...
none

I also think that it depends on where, and how they both are portrayed.
For example, in that lame movie about the war between wolves and vamps, I liked the wolves more since they seemed to be nicer, and also could shift whenever they wanted.
Vampires were presented as snob-like idiots.

You're taking it all to far... People can like whichever race they want...
It also seems you are trying to convert people...~.

This.
Furry fetishists bastardized one, Anne Rice sissified the other.

Definitely more useful than werewolves or vampires.

hang on sec...
let me get this straight.
Some of you guys seem to hate both werewolves and vampires and are only here to tell those of us who do like them that we are way to into them.
Yet the title of this thread is clearly Werewolves Vs Vampires?

the real question is, why are you even reading all this at all?

anyway back on track again... i dont think your entirely right about wizards/witches trading there souls only to become werewolves. It went both ways, paticuly with the more cruel sorcerers who knew that by ritually killing and drinking the blood of innocents then they could achieve immortality aka become a vampire. Then there are also all the rich nobles who would spend great deals of wealth in the search of immortality ("Count" Drakula anyone?)

There is a flaw with that...

Anything with a Strong will cannot be controlled, and by nature Werewolves have a strong will (to KILL YOU NO MATTER WHAT) so that fails.

PS:

Found some crap

Quote
The first feature film to use an anthropomorphic werewolf was Werewolf of London in 1935, not to be confused with the 1981 film of a similar title, establishing the canon that the werewolf always kills what he loves most.

IE LIE

Werewolves kill anything they want to... unless we are talking about the CURSE werewolves, in with case they would kill anything regardless of who it is.

Quote
The Wolf Man (1941), starring Lon Chaney Jr. as the werewolf Larry Talbot. This movie contained the now-famous rhyme: "Even a man who is pure in heart / And says his prayers at night / May become a wolf when the wolf-bane blooms / And the autumn moon is bright." This movie is often credited with originating several aspects of the legend which differ from traditional folklore (including contagiousness, and association with the moon).

I HATE YOU!!! DAMN MOVIE

meh... I can't find the cause of the belief that werewolves where the servants of vampires... I guess I can only blame Vampire fans and authors that wanted the vampires to have a worthy guard for their day time strolls...

PS: is clearly stated that Werewolves where servants of Powerful demons (Mages exchanging their souls in order to become Werewolves and live longer as the pawns of said demons) and vampires are no demons.

You are right, I can't news flash a myth... but I can at the very least pretend to right?

Also Mages and Witches in folk tales always traded their souls for the ability to shapeshift (always) in some is exclusively to shapeshift into Werewolves (because who wouldn't want to transform in an almost Immortal and Super Powerful BEAST that can easily pretend to be a human and enjoy a normal life until said person is bored and wants to destroy something) is in more early adaptations that mages and witches would drink blood and form a pact in order to become a vampire (no reflection makes you forget how you look, and in turn makes you look hideous!!!) laugh eyes wink

Meh...Twilight is overrated now (The hell? Vampires sparkle in the sun? >.>). So I'm glad you banned that haha.

And ah, bedob is sure full of wisdom! Toilet paper ftw! laugh
