My suggestion is pretty simple: How about a function that allow the users to erase their own posts? For example, it would be useful when you make a double-post or when you accidentally post in the wrong section.

I don't really think it's necessary... At least not in the case of accidental double posts. We will deal with it. And it's pretty easy to tell if a double post was accidental or not. And for other funkier requests you can always PM me. I'll probably comply not so long after.
But well, I'm not the one doing the coding though. If Manick likes your idea and decides to implement it. I guess that just means 1% less stuff to deal with for me(that's the proportion of accidental double posts compared to all double posts)

I actually want to update a few things in the next update, like having the ability for users to change their topic titles & moderate their own topics, so this is definitely a possibility.

First of all, thanks for taking my suggestion in consideration.

Well, since that feature is so essential it seemed odd to me that it wasn't already implemented here. But if erase double posts don't bother you then it's not as essential as I believed.

I don't really think that is a good idea to allow a user to completely moderate his own thread. For example, if there is a discussion the thread opener could erase some posts because he simply doesn't agree with them or worst, he could edit some of them and change their content so the original poster would lose credibility or something along these lines. For me, a user should only be granted the ability of edit and erase his own posts...but at the end, it's up to you to decide.

I totally agree with NeoFireHawk there. Regular users should not be able to touch the posts of any other person. (Edit their own thread titles and stuff like that, I'm fine with.)

Perhaps the ability to delete posts within like 5 minutes of posting...

Also agree with NeoFireHawk and lambchopsil...
They shouldn't be able to touch other people posts. And even editing threads should be limited to normal ones and not polls. It wouldn't be fun if he changes the question and twists everybody answer. (Well it's lame, and he probably would be flamed for doing so, but why give him the ability to do it?)

Edit:
@Manick, that sounds fair imo

The ability to erase one's own posts could be abused by people who wish to raise his/her post count. It would be fine if the mods/admin have a website history thing to check to make sure no one is abusing that ability but if the mods/admin don't then letting members delete double posts might not be such a good idea.

I guess it would have to be a choice of two evils though, a person upping their post count or saying something and then getting away with it by deleting it? :x
