From the beginning. Didn't even know that it was from the Death Note creator. I personally find it very interesting to follow the life cycle of a manga and how all this stuff with the publisher and such works.

me too... at first i didn't even know that the creator of death note and bakuman are the same, though the arts are the same, but hey, fairy tail and one piece have same style but different authors... but bakuman hit my interest and started waiting for every release it has. i just wish there's a shop/store here that sells manga. (bookstores here only sells manga publish by US like DelRey)

if you want to buy japanese manga, use the following website:
nippon-export
benippon
and soemtimes, ebay

Cause I liked the summary and cover.
I didn't care about who the mangaka was..xD Because just from reading this manga, I know for sure it is not like Death Note.

i agree w/ u!!

by the time i found out about it on onemanga it already had a decent amount of releases. the synosis sounded interesting so i went to Bakuman's series page on mangaupdates and read some of the comments, and that's when i found out it was made by the same creators of Death Note.

i was a little reluctant to start it cause i've read other stories about where the characters are mangakas but it was simply just that -- the main character being a mangaka was only a characteristic and the story itself has nothing to do with the character drawing mangas. i was afraid Bakuman may be the same.

but i was wrong. i finally started reading it mostly because of my curiosity of a mangaka's life and a bit cause of the DN authors, and im glad i made that decision. Bakuman is very informative about how the Japanese manga industry works, and combining this w/ a touch of romance and a likeable cast (i love how they make characters w/ weird personalities and wacky hairstyles like Niizuma & Hiramaru), it is nothing but interesting!

p.s. i feel a little more otaku each time i read a new chapter =.=

the cover looked awesome.
and then I read the summary and thought it'd be interesting to read about becoming a mangaka xD
and it really is interesting ^^

I found it while window-shopping through the catalog on benippon.com and liked the covers. So I looked up a summary, thought it sounded interesting, and decided to give a read. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but I like it so far.

The very first thing that caught my eye was the title Bakuman. From my very little understanding of japanese language, i somehow knew that baku has something to do with explosion or something, so i thought it was some kinda action manga so check it out and after reading the first chapter i'm like way off target embarrassed haha...

But still, i got me hooked on the first chapter and the nice looking art also helps a lot. Didn't know that it was from the same mangaka that did Death Note until now that is laugh

I started reading it since the beginning... In Fact it's the manga that started it all... I mean it's why I started being a harder otaku than before XD... I started it because it was written and drawn by the authors of Death Note,... No other reason bigrazz

Green biggrin cool
