So, this morning, I was watching Good Morning America, and they did a little 5-10 minute bit on this one Place in Canada, somewhere next to the west coast. In a valley, with a large river running through it.

This valley has 1million acres of forest/mountain surrounding it, and a golden-colored parasitic plant grows in it. The plant grows in a trees branches, and isn't limited to growing upwards. The plant may be called Goldenwood in some books, but the guy talking said its nearly extinct because "It required very pure air, almost 100% oxygen". He called it a name starting with a L.

Lets see... the two people who spoke was a guy who owns 500 acres there, and a part Indian Chick who said many places in the forest are sacred.

This might go in I'm Looking For... but it seemed more suited to chatterbox.

I know this request is a bit strange... but its been bugging the crap out of me!

I second B.C. Not sure about where in B.C. but since it's one of the most beautiful places in Canada I'd take my chances.

That plant sounds like one a girl uses in the first book of the Sevenwaters trilogy (by Juliet Marillier)... I can't seem to recall the name she gives it but it fits the description....

I think there are a few plants that fit that description. Besides, Sevenwaters trilogy is set in Ireland so not really related to the place?
