How Male Mind Works or just Perverted?

Poll
Does only a pervert think this way?
Yes, stop oogling only certain areas of other people's bodies.
No, I would've assumed she was menstruating also.

So I'm studying with friends who happen to be international exchange students at my university. Their English is understandably fluent, but they haven't picked up on all the quirks of common expressions in conversation. Today, when I saw her for the first time that evening, one of my friends did not look in the best of spirits (sickly, tired, etc). So I asked her how she was doing.

She said to me flat-out: “I bleed a lot today.” none

The first thing that came to my mind was menstruation. I thought it was strange she was being so personal about her body with me… Later, I realized she was talking about her nose.

No, you're not a pervert. I would've thought the same thing.

... Wait, that doesn't help you, since I am a pervert... laugh But hmm, such an ambiguous statement coming from a girl makes you assume that it was her period that was the cause, at least in my opinion. :/

Hope I helped. x]

Menstruation isn't a perverted subject. It is a common theme connecting women with bleeding a lot. You only thought of it because your brain made that generalization. It's not a bad thing at all. In fact, if you didn't make that generalization, your brain is probably not good at making generalizations, assuming you knew what menstruation is. In that case, you probably should get some psych test....

I thought that when I read it, too. And I would of thought the same thing in that situation. I've never seen a female with a nose bleed either, and being female, her period would definitely be the first thing to come to mind. Regardless of her being foreign or not, I often blurt out things like that before realizing how they'll sound.

The fact that you said she looked worn out and tired as well, I would have thought the same in that situation.

I don't find menstrutation even relatively
arousing. Most men find it repulsive,
so I don't think it is because
of the male mind...

That's what I would have thought too. She was too vague

Most women find menstruation repulsive. I find it absolutely disgusting.

...yeah I would have thought it was that time of the month for her as well. Unless you're into bloodplay there's nothing perverted about that none

The first thing that came to my mind was she, either got stabbed, shot or was just in a horrible fight. But then since she was still walking the next thing I thought was "It was probably her time of the month."

I thought the same.
But I am a pervert after all, so I don't count. (female)

No, I don't think you're a pervert because of that.
Nowadays it's pretty common to think like this, I guess...

I don't find menstruation repulsive or disgusting.
It's only immensely annoying.
For many reasons.
But that's besides that point...

That's pretty understandable. It's pretty much fact that menstruation can affect mood. I've never heard of somebody bleeding from their nose so hardcore that it made them appear visibly ill either.
