Why is everyone making such a big deal over the guy's gender? Girls can be just as messed up as male otakus. If a Twilight fan could figure out how to marry that prick Edward, they would. (EEEW)
I don't think your lack of understanding has anything to do with being a girl. Also, visiting a red light district? Not a viable alternative solution.

Okay, marrying a cushion is pathetic and sad, but at least there's no chance of an STD. Hookers and their johns spread disease like wildfire. Plus, it's not like the pillow is mentally messed-up because it's treated as an instrument of pleasure. After all, it's just a pillow.
This whole article makes me laugh. A random dude can marry an inanimate object, but a civilized, consenting gay couple is refused a ceremony? What happened to that sanctity of marriage everyone is trying so hard to protect?

It's not like a pillow can say "I do" or anything. Nor can it sign a marriage contract.
So how do we even know the marriage is consensual? Maybe the poor pillow is being wed against it's will.
