Probably because it's the worst movie on the planet.

The only one I can remember and wasn't exactly a film was Prayers for Bobby
It's not about a couple but a teenage gay boy that kills himself because of the way his mother starts to acts after she discover he was gay...It's pretty sad but good
I think it's in youtube, pretty short film (:

A French In Extremis. It's quite heavy and also features incest.
Mysterious Skin and Little Ashes if you haven't seen them.
A bit in Stage Beauty and American Beauty.
Gone, But Not Forgotten (haven't seen)
And there is Gus Van Sant, a director, in general.
And Joe Dallesandro, an actor. Note that he did mostly underground films and is better when young (lol) so I don't know if it's easy to find his movies. According to wiki he's a sexsymbol of gay subculture though.

Ang Lee's "Brokeback Mountain"
The Wachowski Brothers' "Bound"
David Lynch's "Mulholland Dr."
Gay and lesbian themes aren't necessarily the center of those films, but they're all excellent films nonetheless. And they all have great same-sex love scenes. haha.

I love LGBT cinema.
For a lesbian movie, I'd recommend Love My Life -- it's a great film.

"The King and the Clown"
Historical Korean movie with homosexual themes. It won awards for the year it was produced in. I liked it a lot, and people would like it even if they don't like kdrama.

I don't know much Gay-movies. I just have watched: The King and the Clown, Frozen flowers, Brokeback mountain and Transamerica, Antique Bakery.
I think they are all good
Anyway, since my friend recommend me to watch The King and the Clown, Frozen flowers and after falling in love with the movie version of my fav manga - Antique Bakery, I kinda prefer Korean Gay Movies.

Good god, Swannie, a topic after my own heart. I used to seek those out like a golddigger with OCD.
Let me see:
Pretty much anything by Derek Jarman, as he was THE gay director of the 80's, but specifically "Caravaggio" and "Wittgenstein" (the lighter and easier of the two. Jarman is fascinating, but he's essentially artsy with all that that implies.)
"Love is the Devil" and "Infamous" both with Daniel Craig. Also with him, Enduring Love, but not really. He has a gay stalker. Typical Daniel Craig
Patrik- if I remeber correctly it has two swedish guys adopt a 15 YO by mistake. Not shouta! just two gays and their son. cute as hell.
Fellini's Satyricon
Total eclipse (Thewlis &Dicaprio in my fave genre: gay biopics)
ditto for Nijinsky which I haven't seen
the first 5 episodes of Brideshead Revisited. (NOT THE MOVIE )
And you can complete the experience by listening to the OST of the Road to el dorado. Pretty much Dreamworks' saying to Elton John : " There, boy, piano. Go wild. "

Plata Quemada
I don't know, but I'm pretty sure I might have suggested this to you before, but no harm in suggesting it again.

Second this so much. One of my favorite movies. Also updating trailer link because that one doesn't work: Plata Quemada.
Spanish-speaking people makes some good movies in general, and as well gay ones. Someone suggested Y tu mamá también, also a good one. Not much gay, but strong friendship and overall a very good movie! About two guys who pick up an older lady and they go for a roadtrip through Mexico.
Mentiras y gordas, a gay boy in love with his straight best friend and a girl that find another girl she likes, but there are some problems, subject is not on gay themed though. Also very depressing yet enjoyable. Not sure many would like it though. A lot of meaningless sex scenes and similar.
Clandestinos, about three guys that escape from prison. One of them is "secretly" a male hustler, also, strong friendship.
The living end, about two guys that are HIV+ and decides to just live their life while they can, on a crazy roadtirp.
Tan Lines, strange yet charming movie about a guy finding out his love for his friend's older brother who just came home after a trip (or something like that).
Krámpack, two best friends, who haven't seen each other in a long while meet up and hunting for girls, but one of them is more interested in this friend. Adorable and charming.
