Quote from Utsukushii Yume
But don't they only put the tag romance if there is actual romance? Like for manga that have no romance tag on it, but instead focus on friendships, should we put the romance tag on those because its a shojo, the two friends get along REALLY well, and we can just imagine them falling in love in the future if the manga was longer?
This sounds like what has happened in a few manga I read that were mysteriously labeled as shounen ai or shoujo ai. The characters were really really good friends, and definitely seemed closer than a lot of people who were dating, but it was still just a friendship. And they had the tag and I didn't mind them having a tag.
But it's been a while since I read them so I'm not giving specific examples.
