im a men and its hard for me to understand why straigt people read yaoi.
there are many crazy fangirl out there who read shounen ai and yaoi stuff ( sorry no offence ) but i jsut dont get what attracts them. i mean all the male people i know who read manga dont like shoujo and yuri things and acutally think its strange.

to answer this question a girl has to out herself id say

I don't know i just like yaoi no particular reason, i don't know any guys that read it any i know think i'm crazy for reading it are just shrug it off, of course i do like other manga but yaoi and shounen ai are my favorite these days. maybe i just got tired of shoujo which is all i read for awhile a lot of the female characters can be so annoying in them till i just wanted to read something a little different which just happens to be yaoi. eyes

Probably there are as many reasons as there are readers of yaoi, but for me, it boils down to two things:

1. Two guys = twice the eye candy.

2. In most manga, otherwise strong, interesting female characters tend to get stupid/weak/clumsy/submissive when it comes to romance or sex. I tend to go for yaoi with guys who act like guys because I find the manga stereotype of a woman's romantic/sexual behavior to be grating, fake, a little scary, and occasionally an affront to me as a woman.

How about using the search forums function next time? Since you seem to be making a lot of repeat threads.
