I don't really remember much, but I think it was about this guy who was secretly writing a light novel(?)/book and one day the characters or monsters came to life. I also think there was a witch character there too?

And I don't know if this is the another series or not, or merely my wishful thinking, but I think the book transforms him into the book's main character a la magical girl?

okay, first part remembers me about Genkaku Picasso, which I'ver never read, but plan to, the second part reminds me of Kämpfer, which I also never read and don't really plan to.

I can safely say it isn't Genkaku Picasso - I've read it, and it's nothing like what the OP describes.

But I'm afraid I don't have a clue what it could actually be
