I'm looking for manga to buy in Japan that raws aren't available for and aren't being scanned. Mostly seinen and shounen please~

Really? I try sometimes to find something in raw just for fun but can't find it. Could it be that it's on Japanese sites and written in the original text, I'm mostly trying to search for the romanized thing...

Anyway, I think you should just search in the database and search on Google if the raws are available. It's better if you decide it for yourself what you want to buy IMO. wink

Why don't you translate, if you can. They'res loads of RAWs available but a lot of them haven't been translated. If you can't then look for newer volumes of not so popular manga, or the latest manga magazine. Also try the light novels, they're usually right by the manga in the bookstore and there are less RAWs available for light novels than there are for manga. I agree with Keotsjie though, your better off just buying whatever you want to.

Well, I've been searching for the Japanese scans of Taimashin and Masatsu Note Taimashin Toudouhen forever and can't find either (though I did find the Korean raws). The demographic is seinen and (going by the first volume) it's very interesting, so you might want to try buying that. (The two series are related, btw.)

Obviously, I know nothing of your preferences in manga, so I'll simply recommend a couple of things I'd like to see... also, I don't really search for raws that often, so I can't guarantee that these are unavailable:

Journey to the End of the World - Hox stated he'd be interested in finishing this series if there were raws available. In fact, I'd say anything by Nishioka Kyoudai would be worth buying.

Other than The World is Mine and Kiichi!!, anything else by Arai Hideki - Itoshi no Airiin and Sugar (ARAI Hideki) especially.

In general, I'd suspect that older works are less likely to be scanned, so if you know of a classic manga series that nobody's scanlating, it probably doesn't have raws - particularly if the author isn't well-known.

I've looked for raws for Propeller Heaven before and couldn't find them - but then, I can't moonrune, so that means little.

I'd agree, but I don't really know 4chan too well and it's not that hard for people to be so ignorant about a country they only know through fan translated manga ^^;;

I suppose I was leaning a little towards introducing recent series that are relatively unknown here, for example, "Akame ga Kill," which I know little about beyond the cover. I'll make sure to check out everything suggested here. The thing is, I'm going to be buying stuff I haven't read, so I can't tell if I'd actually like it anyways. btw, I actually do translate a bit, and I'm not too interested in obtaining light novels at the moment.
