I've read doujins like that, I've also read the opposite. You got to take into account they draw 17+ pages a week with only a few assistances while doujins are drawn in months and months with only 17-30+ pages.

yea, but this person is good. if they kept practicing maybe they could be a shoujo mangaka. thats what i wish i could be. but i would also want to write some shounen cuz shounen is kick ass. and some douinshi are so good and deep they make me want to cry a little. sad

Indeed this might be true, BUT One Piece seems to have the ability to put out quality art along with story each week unlike the downhill slope that Bleach has been doing since SS arc.

How can you even compare the two? It's like comparing apples to summer squashes. Oda is a genius to me, Kubo would be lucky to compare. And vampire ninja if you even make any manga or doujin I want to read it!

some series are actually better off with rough art i think that bleach is better off that way since it is more suited to the type of story and i do not think i would be able to read bleach if it were more shoujo it would completely kill the series

i once read a code geass dj drawn by naked ape! i sat in front of my computer and said BOAH!
there also was a Code Geass dj where the persons exactly looked like in the anime, just in black white. Some Hikaru no Go dj are way better than teir original

yeah, D Gray-Man went more Shoujo-style and it became impossible to tell characters apart, bad idea.. biggrin
One Piece is a different case, a) the author is something special, and b) it's a different art style, cartoonier and looks like it took less time, so the author had more time to have fun and use his imagination. Perfect style for a weekly manga, just as the really detailed art styles like Berserk/ Vinland Saga or something fit really well in monthly magazines. Bleach was all about light and shadow, making the real world look unreal and awesome blood-splatters, and he was really good at tones (which take ages) and layouts, but looks like he spends too long drawing people's lips and hair and not enough time on the story these days.
