Usually when I see something labeled either Adult or Mature, it means the same thing, and they're basically interchangeable to me. From the descriptions above (taken from the genre page), it seems like Adult is maybe a level up from Mature, even though we probably don't distinguish between the two often, and who's really going to remember which is which?

I suggest we either merge the two into one to streamline the database, or further clarify the degree to which we're defining them (i.e., one is "Mature," one is "Extra-Mature"). Thoughts?

(i.e., one is "Mature," one is "Extra-Mature") - reminds me too much of cheese. But i do agree with you, both are pretty similar and could be combined into a single genre.

I thought mature would be more...on the ecchi side or something. or at least with themes not suitable for children. Adults was a build up of mature with themes more suitable for adults eg. sexual themes.
