I really enjoyed TES: IV oblivion, thought it was the best game ever created in fact.

until i played dragon age origins that is.

The story, companionship, and romance options just captivated me.
If anyone's bored and needs a game to play while waiting for skyrim, you might enjoy this one.

However, I am looking forward to Skyrim. been waiting over a year to hear some news about it.

I don't know if people keep up with the news on Skyrim but this is pretty interesting for those who are really into the lore.

To those who have commented about building a new engine... If the screenshots are any indication, they've probably finished most of the work regarding creating the engine.

Also, since Bethesda and Id combined, they've probably used a team from Id who's more experienced in creation of game engines, while the Bethesda staff most likely concentrated on art, story, and game design.

Bethesda's likely going to work more on the story? Great, now we know that there's likely going to be yet another anti-climatic ending where you stand around doing nothing while the climax of the story happens around you...

A pity they don't have Bioware's story-telling talent. They should just scrap any semblance of a main story, and focus on creating the best sandbox world they can for modders to mod their own quests. That's the best part of every game they've made.

Yes, when it comes to writing they're hacks. But Id certainly isn't any better (See:Quake, Doom), so unless they skimmed some writers off of Obsidian when they rented out the license to Fallout, they'll be spending a lot of time on anti-climactic endings.

Dont think thats gonna be the case this time, seeing as the player is the dragonborn (dragon hunter) and the big bad is a dragon god
Or so I've read...

Game Informer has a story on the overhaul of Elder Scrolls' menu.

Inside Skyrim's Menu System Overhaul

Why is Game Informer seemingly getting all of this Skyrim info first anyway? They're one of (If not the worst) gaming magazines today...

I was about to share this too, but you beat me ya slick bastard. laugh

Anyway, when me and my brothers were watching it, we were like OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD

The graphics look amazing, and the animation for moves looks so fluid. I'm guessing it's canned animation for when you want to deliver the final blow to someone, but if it isn't then that is a HUGE step up from Oblivion.

The people look as expected. This is Bethesda were talking about.
Actually, the only thing I thought looked bad was the running water. I read somewhere that the direction of the flow will be implemented but maybe this is a side effect.
The dragons look EXCELLENT! as well as the armor and the magic
hehe cant wait!
