I'm looking for a manga where the subject at hand would be about the wars and genocide ravaging Africa, it's been happening for a while now but I'm hoping there is a manga out there about fairly recent fighting. Like the 1990s up til now. I've never heard of a manga about that and it would be interesting to see it portrayed that way. I'm also open to anime, books and movies too.
I've become interested in what's happening in Africa ever since I learned about invisible children, and I feel so stupid because I only heard about all the horrible stuff going on in Africa four years ago. Granted I'm still in high school, but still... Oh well, I know about it now. I've seen Hotel Rwanda and Blood Diamond, I also saw Tears of the Sun but I can't quite remember if that was accurate or not. I've also read A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a boy soldier, which was amazing and so... ah Anyways Please and thank you!

There's What is the What by Dave Eggers, which I find to be really good.

Hehe, yay! :]
And another book I found (but have not read) is Say You're One of Them by Uwem Akpan. It's a recent Oprah's Book Club book, so I'm pretty sure it's really good. I don't know how much of it is specifically about soldiers and genocide, but it's a collection of harsh and painful short stories.
