sorry, but this poll is too biased for me... The "worst" can be considered different for everyone. ie. they both were unfinished with work AND got caught for porn, but they don't care about how they're viewed so not being finished would be worse for them, but a work-lax person would consider the porn one worse...

In a side answer: I've had all but the grades(never had to study...ever), virus, and friends laughing(had outsiders laugh until i showed them the light by offering them a manga they enjoy) happen to me. I just can't decide what I would classify "worst"... maybe the money one? I once spent around 5,000USD at a single Con. It was within my pre-arranged budget, but I sometimes think me being OK with spending that much is a problem itself...

I think the worst thing that happened is my grades started dropping not long after I started reading. Course, I was dealing with depression and week-long, knock-me-on-my-back migraines that probably had more to do with my grades than manga. Strictly manga would probably be sleep deprivation due to late-night reading.

The first choice. Mainly it was because I was just procrastinating, but manga was the main reason.

Worst thing was my roommates found some of my volumes of Gantz and the first thing they turned to was a sex scene, never got to the cutting aliens in half part. Still get flak for that even though it has been a couple years they think I'm a weird pervert lol.

There are four choices that apply to me:

1. Didn't finish my work. This almost always happens. biggrin When it does, I just find a way to do it the next day before I turn it in.

2. Overslept because of late-night reading. So guilty of this one. biggrin I would procrastinate, read 'till morning, never get any work done, and wake up in the morning only to find out that there's a couple minutes left before school started. That's my usual routine.

3. Other. If I didn't oversleep, then I inevitably fall asleep in class and lose focus. But fortunately, it's never been severe enough to drop my grades. (Well, my grades sometimes do drop a little, but not significantly.)

4. Got a virus on my computer for downloading. This only happened once, but ever since then, I've been very wary about downloading. dead

I hope that I'll never have any troubles because of it in the future. no

My grades dropped a little. Well, that was just for a brief period, about a year and half ago, and manga weren't the main cause of it, I mean, I was kinda depressed and read manga because I was too down to study, and failed a pair of tests.
But then I resumed studying, and in a short time everything was fine, even now my votes are nothing to complain about.

My parents aren't mad, but they'd rather I spend more time on doing something productive - like reading "real" books with "words," as they say.

Perhaps the only problem I have is to cut back on the money I spend on manga.

It wasn't manga that was the problem; it was anime biggrin

I started reading manga after high school... yea, most don't apply to me, but my friends make fun of me sometimes. mad
Always pointing out the obvious, like "OMG big boobs and eyes, WTF! What Japan is this?!" You'd never see them act that way towards an American comic, but they'd still call me a loser. I guess they have to make fun of me about something since I'm otherwise superior to them bigrazz It does get annoying when I'm flirting with a girl and one of them comes up and starts running their mouth about my hobby... bastards. Nobody will find my h-manga, though. I hide it deep under 10+ layers of folders and rename it "backup" then delete all evidence!

I have this situation as well.
It kinda sucks when I spend about $100 on books only to find out the ending sucks or something. I'm still trying to figure out how to sell those manga...

Same here - although I may find it sucks just halfway through... I still feel compelled to buy the rest of the series just to complete my collection. I'm kind of obsessive over that.

Plus, when it comes to reading it always feels infinitely better to have the book in your hands - something tangible to hold onto.

the only problem i have is i guess spending money on it and then they just decide to cancel it

in my crapastic country lol they decided to stop Inu Yasha after 47 volumes and i had allready bought 46 of them when they mentioned that the next book will be the last

then the second shock came when they canceled Detective Conan after 63 volumes

wtf that makes me so mad
spent lots and lots of money on 2 long running series and i will never get them completed
