He claims to be a married man, and of course, in Japan, homosexual marriage is prohibited.

I mean, I'm not against guys who write male/male material, and it doesn't mean they are gay people (Noboru Takatsuki, Aoi Kujou, Sakura Kido, and Hirotaka Kisaragi are really awesome. Not so much for Tohru Kousaka though.) But, what Mentaiko-sensei writes isn't BL/yaoi, it's gay manga... I find this sort of odd... ?

I don't know what I'm saying. Hehe... um... eek

Everyone has the right to do whatever he or she wants to, as long as it doesn't harm ( interfere with ) another person's rights smile
So i guess it's his choice , what he draws or doesn't draw... i'm sure he has his own reasons behind it, reasons, which we will probably never know. It's not our business to judge them ( the reasons) or him. If we like his art/stories, we read it, if not, then we don't read it...it's just as simple as that. That's the beauty or the freedom (of choice) biggrin ( and anyways, "''l'art pour l'art'' !! hahaha)

Ok, we may have our thoughts and opinions about him ( and his reasons) but i think it shouldn't influence our choice, when choosing what we like and what we don't. A lot of authors -even great ones, like for e.g. Thomas Mann or Paul Verlaine - were closeted gays or bisexual, but i think that that single, little, insignificant detail about them as human beings does not, in any way, make their works any less valuable and beautiful ( i know Mentaiko-sensei's works are more in the "porn" section of the Manga, so it's not really a good comparison... but the idea is the same !! ).

So, to summarize it up ( for the one who find it tl;dr ) : one should not be influenced by such trivial things as sexual preference of the author when choosing any kind of things. Also, we should accept that one will never be able to fully understand another human being ( it's feelings, thought, experiences, reasons, ideas etc. ), even the ones that are the nearest to us, so, trying to find a rational explanation for everything he or she does will only cause more conflicts and misunderstanding .

Ciao smile
