by seperated i DON'T mean breakup
simply put,2 lovers are seperated due to circumstances like war, death, parents, studying abroad etc.
they have to STAY in love with eachother even after the separation(or atleast for a long while) they should find it extremely hard to move on.(its fine if they do moveon in the end but the main point is they have to find it really hard to forget that person)
basically,im looking for a heart-wrenching love
also, the romance doesnt have to be the main theme of the manga,BUT it should be one of the main forces of the story(no undertone or implied romance please)

AND please no oneshots,yaoi,yuri,smut,hentai,shouji ai
but shounen ai is fine

examples :
hoshi no koe:beautiful...
Suna no Shiro:i cant wait until the scanlations are over T_T(yes im very impatient so pls try to recommend completely scanlated mangas only)

Ehh... I usually avoid that crap. wink

What about Emma? They are separated for quite a while, not to mention being separated by the class thing throughout. There's drama and a bit of heart-wrench, but in doses I could accept.

Bokura ga Ita
Spoiler (highlight to view)
But it doesn't happen until about halfway through
and this isn't fully scanlated sorry. But it's the first manga I thought of by your description!

Kimi ni Shika Kikoenai: kind of...separated by time and space.
and if you are okay with watching movies, then Tokyo Girl is a good one, basically about a girl in the modern days who drops her cellphone and it gets picked up by a guy living in 1912, and a relationship develops across time...

Ahahahahaha laugh sometimes people make requests for manga and I just want to say this... but I've never worked up the courage...

Well, anyway, have a look at the Long Distance Relationship Category if you haven't already.

Byousoku 5 Centimeter

I swear I was livid after watching the movie. The manga is not yet completely scanlated though.

what i dont understand is why you would bother replying if you find my request crappy?
different people have different tastes in mangas .
and i loved makoto shinkai's work, but i couldnt find anything close ,most shoujo mangas are shallow and i dont feel the same blue feeling as i do while watching makoto's movies.
try not to be mean, what doesnt interest you might appeal to someone else.
but thanks anyway smile

and @fbunawan
i watched the movie long ago its one of my favourites biggrin

I should just point out that you're quoting me there but I never said I thought your request was crappy. I was merely pointing out that sometimes I do think that when I'm browsing the forums but I've never actually said it. Either way, both I and jedinat made suggestions in our replies, hence why we answered your request; we didn't reply simply to flame your taste in manga. I'm sure we all know that different people like different things... that is precisely why jedinat is entitled to express his own opinion on the matter - freedom of speech is a human right. Perhaps if he'd gone off in a huge tirade personally attacking you for liking this sort of plot it would be inappropriate, but I don't believe either of us had any malicious intent.

no no no i didnt have a problem with wat @jedinat said at all ,because as you said, he was expressing his own opinion
but your post bothered me a bit because its like you were saying that u are irritated by people's requests here, this is the "looking for" forum so anyone has the freedom to request anything (i know you didnt actually say it but u were implying).
i didnt say u had a malicious intent ,i dont think you're a bad person ,im just saying it wouldnt hurt to say things in a nicer way smile

You should try Tsuki no Waltz by Mitsuki Kako. http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=36702
It contains some bittersweet story. I really touched by the stories.

Hana no Hime? It's a story about a young girl who's in love with her childhood friend/bodyguard but got separated because she was married off to a warlord who used to marry her mother.

Sora ni Saitara ..a sweet one-shot about two childhood friends, who were longed to meet each other again. The girl was sold off to the red light district and the guy became an apprentice on making fireworks.

Chouritsushi probably counts?

Long distant romances that involve writing love letters:
Love Letter (SEO Kouji)
Tetsudou In, Love Letter
