Bluntness can go both ways. I admit that i am a very blunt person. Sometimes situations would go smoother if the person was blunt but there are also time where its use is inapporpriate.

Some people also handly things differently so you have to be tactical about it use as to not upset or offend someone. Personally i like it when people are honest with me so i like bluntness.

i don't like blunt objects. i prefer sharp ones, they are better to get things done.

Bluntness is okay. Believe it or not, people can be pretty blunt without coming across as a complete and total d***. So yeah, bluntness it okay.

Blunt is easily confused with mean. When talking about mean comments I'd hate them. But being blunt fot the sake of clearly stating what you mean? I love it.
It would be so much easier if people were just blunt while expressing themselves. That way they wouldn't hurt others with euphemisms or half harted answers.

There's a difference between being blunt (saying whatever is on your mind) and being honest. I believe that you should be honest to some degree, especially toward the people that are important to you. But cruel bluntness toward strangers is unnecessary (unless it will help the person in some way).

I tend to be quite blunt but I try to draw a line between being blunt and being rude. Mostly I'm just blunt for comedic effect, but you always have to consider your words so you don't end up hurting someone. I've had friends who've said horrible things about me to my face intending it to be funny, and it might've been funny if it had been something about me that wasn't actually true or something that nobody cares about (like uhhhh... the shape of your fingernails or something), but if you say something about their weight or their face or how good they are at something that's important to them, it's very likely they're sensitive about it and you're going to really offend them. There's a difference between being blunt in a positive way (perhaps pointing out when someone's doing something badly, because you want to help them and give constructive criticism, or trying to express yourself honestly in order to improve a relationship or communication) or just flat out saying "you suck".
