Sorry if this has already been a topic but I just don't know what to look for..
Is it just me or are a lot of good stories about to come to an end? It seems like a lot of big manga might be ending soon and that's a bit troublesome isn't it?
I mean you got PoT which will probably end right after Nationals.. Naruto which will probably end right after the Akatsuki ordeal.. Bleach which will probably end right after getting Orihime.. Eyeshield 21 which will probably end right after the Christmas Bowl.. Detective Conan which will end soon(author said he has a good grasp of the ending and just has to lead up to it or something like that).. And maybe D. Gray-Man too.. It doesn't seem like there is a whole lot left to cover.. Oh and Hunter X Hunter too.. But I don't think there will be much disappointment since it ended for a couple of years once already..
But anyways.. Most of those manga are huge and once they end I feel like it will leave a big hole.. Now of course not everyone is a fan of all of them or even any of them, and some might not end on this current arc, and if they did they wouldn't all end on the same day or anything.. But these endings just seem.. Monumental..
Hmm.. Maybe I just have too much invested interest in all of these manga.. Reading all of them for years and years and years may have made them special to me. Maybe the hole won't be left in the manga community but in myself really.. I could just be looking at the massive fan bases and be thinking that they are everything. That because of the ammount of people that like them, the are absolute..
Hmm.. So in my mind, these perfect mangas are about to come to an end.. I honestly can't think of anything that can replace them.. Do we wait for the Mangaka's next work or read on in an attempt to find something that can fill the void?

I like endings. There's not much worse than being in a perpetual cliffhanger.

Trust me, there are a lot of good mangas out there.. They're just not as known as Naruto, etc. If Silverado was here, he would say read some Seinens.. bigrazz

Like Vagabond and Berserk, they'll keep you occupied enough. Both have over 20 Volumes.

I've read both of them(well atleast what has been released)smile and I understand that there are a bunch of other good mangas out there but it just seems like Naruto and such were much more important..

Seriously though... Go out and spread the word onto the manga community(I'm too lazy so I figure starting here is good enough)..

The manga apocalypse is approaching..

You forgot Inuyasha, though I don't read it personally, one of my friends said it's going to end within a year. Also Negima could be in it's last arc as well, not really sure about that but hey you never know.

I don't think Negima's anywhere near finished yet. Unless Akamatsu is that much of a boob.

Anime/Manga come and go. Life goes on.

Some of those endings are long due imho. I don't mind if a manga goes on for a long time as long as the story stays fresh and the author refrains from recycling the same bits over and over. But when it doesn't, you just want it to end.

Oddly enough while I want Naruto to simply end, the other brother's manga, 666 Satan seems to keep me entertained and feeling like there's actually real character development.

Naruto, Bleach, PoT, etc... They all feel very degenerated. (Hunter X Hunter will probably end if the mangaka has decided it to be so. Though I felt it had a lot of potential still.)

Anyway I'm quite ready for their end. There's a lot of manga out there that are underscanned which might be taken up ^.^.

I agree with Spawnblade. All those manga you mentioned have worn out their welcome, and their endings are long overdue. And I, for one, will be happy to finally see Naruto end.

I don't think there will ever be a void in the manga universe, especially shounen. Shounen magazines like Jump and Shounen Sunday will simply not let that happen---they always need to have at least one or two ongoing manga in their collection that becomes super popular and super successful. A void in the shounen manga universe would mean their end. I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

What about Hajime no Ippo? That series has been going on forever and it's still going, haven't read it myself but it's close to 800 chapters now...

Bleach still has quite a bit of room, at least 3-4 arcs before it has a chance to remotely end. Naruto looks like it's going down the gutter and trying to squeeze out everything on its way to the end. PoT coming to a close seems reasonable enough, everyone's getting the same powers or becoming uber godly usually is a sign of closing. Negima still has a ways to go though, there's room enough to make proper endings that won't suck too much...

I'm always looking for more manga to read, waiting is fine and all but if you simply wait around you'll miss out on everything else that could be good. I finally decided to watch the Over Drive anime, loved it and then went on to reading the manga and I'm glad I took that chance to look around.

If something's even remotely interesting, go for it, you never know where your next favorite mangaka could be.

if you said so, it seems like you missed lot of good manga out there.

Naruto,Bleach,One Piece are just typical standard shounen (repeated power up and plot), they're not that important, there are many better manga ,well mostly are seinen.

The day Naruto and Bleach end, will be a glorious day. But there are still a lot of manga to read. Personally I want more Berserk, Guyver, 666Satan, Ares, Priest, Hellsing, Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn!. And I want someone to finish scanlating Scryed and GetBackers.

I don't know, I reckon Bleach has a way to go yet. The current storyline would make a pretty crap finale anyway. And there's decent characters who blatantly have a purpose in the storyline but haven't even been set up to do anything yet..
I prefer the manga that come out once a month lately, strangely enough they seem to move faster. Bleach is really annoying for that these days. dead

Fullmetal alchemist seems to be drawing to an end though, which I'll miss.

I dont think there's many really long series like the ones you've mentioned that I've read to the end of. The end of Trigun was a bit disappointing, but then the fights always were hard to follow in that manga, especially in blurry scanlation form on a small screen. The only long shouen-ish series with a decent ending that I can think of is Kenshin. (And death note, judging from the anime) biggrin Blame had a good ending too, even though I've no idea what happened..

On a much sillier and more obscure note, the scanlation for Violinist of Hameln is only a few volumes off completion..

There'll always be decent new manga that develop into massive epics if they get the chance..

Well I dont read all of those manga, but I can definitely say Bleach isnt coming to a close any time soon. There will be at least 1 more MAJOR arc in there series since they have yet to deal with Aizen's and I just dont see that happening in the current arc, they will probably rescue Orhime and then escape.

Naruto seems to have a possible decent ending in sight but it seems a good way off as well, there will be at least another year before Naruto finishes in my opinion. Then again the series could end with Naruto becoming Hokage (as he so often speaks of) in which case I could see it taking at least 2-3 years to reach that point.

Inuyasha will probably end within 6 months at the most, they are almost definitely IN the final battle right now, and I doubt that will take more than 25 chapters to complete...probably, and hopefully a lot less.
