Sorry I wasn't very clear with what I asked, I'm not wondering if a manhwa was made into a Japanese animation, I mean does Korea have animation based of of manhwa.
P.S.
Why would another country publish another's work, that's just stupid, I shouldn't have used the word "anime" ( I really meant the Korean equivalent of Japanese anime).

Actually some Manhwa are also licensed and published in Japan ... UxU, Freezing and Kurokami are examples (and both Freezing and Kurokami had anime adaptations).
Also I am amused by the fact many animation is actually made in Korea, its cheaper that in Japan (The Simpsons was/is animated in Korea).

For one, there aren't many manhwa I'd like to see animated (the ones I've read wouldn't really lend itself for animation... same with many manga, but there are many more of those).
Second, S. Korea already has a very large export, with for the most part unrivalled quality, of movies and KDrama. Mostly focussed on either (fantasy) historical or family oriented situations (soaps).
With the amount of actors (and expertise) available there, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sooner choose to make a Live-action than an Animation.
And lastly, local economy (as mentioned before). You'd be hard put to compete with Japan on animated shows... And there's not much S. Korea can offer that has not already been made into a KDrama or animated in Japanese Anime (I think).
And that's only looking at S.Korea and Japan... Worldwide they'd be hard put to create a market for it, which KDrama already has (though smaller than Anime I'd guess).
So yes, they'd probably make more money with making a KDrama than to make an Animated series. Because the way I see it (as a far-away foreigner), S.Korea lives on show-biz.

You know what else is stupid? What you just said right there.

Scyfon, while what he said was stupid, you must admit what he says isn't without some empirical evidence, e.g. iron man anime? x men anime? wolverine anime?

Manhwa just doesn't have enough people to appeal to to warrant an anime adaption. Mostly manhwas become live-action dramas instead. But that doesn't mean Korea isn't in the animation business. Ever wonder where Dora the Explora or Spongebob is made? South Korea of course

LOLWUT?
Do you understand what you're saying or are you just reading a little too deep into what purplemome101 said?
Also, the X-Men anime was far better than certain other anime that aired during the same season, so I have no idea how you see that as an empirical evidence.

Well, I'm glad that America publishes some Japanese manga. I'm happy having a few manga on my shelves to read in English since I don't understand Japanese.
But it's not up to us on what gets published, so that's why most manhwa aren't made into anime. I also don't believe that they would do well. From most manhwa I've seen adapted in anime form have sucked (Well, just ended up dropping them).

Yeah I know, I realized it a while ago and I was heading back to cyhange it and then I see your comment
Honestly some people's responses were a bit confusing, made me think I had asked a different question. So my reply ended up being a bit jumbled. Thanks for pointing it out though.

But at the same time, don't you people think that there are some manhwa that are good enough to be adapted into an anime? even if japanese? i mean, look at ToG, for frigg's sake!!

Manhwas are generally made in Southern Korea but unlike Japan, S.K. doesn't have a huge anime industry. Interesting manhwas or mangas are often made into dramas like City Hunter and as someone said, Japan isn't going to publish another country's work.

Well, before wondering if a manhwa can be made into an anime, I'd like to know if Japanese read manhwa in the first place? Does anyone know? I know k-drama is quite popular in Japan...

.
Of course they do. The problem is that legally/financially/culturally, the vast majority of them don't make sense when you localize them (assuming they get localized in the first place).

Because no manhua has ever been made into anime. I think there was talk back in 2010, or at least that was the supposed released date. I saw somewhere that said that was canceled too.
There's no reason why manhwa's would have anime while manhuas don't. It's just really that no country other than Japan has the industry. I do hope one day to see some manhuas be made into anime... so if that day ever comes, I guess manhwas would likely have anime too. If Japan ever make anime for one country other than their own, I don't see why they won't make it for two. I'm not seeing it in the predictable future though.

Maybe because it's difficult for Korea to make animations. So far ROK produced just a small number of animated series(and most of them are not base on Manhwas). Assumed that Koreans have limited animation productivity, in other words, just as the Chinese Internet Meme goes, "don't have that in tech tree" or "weird tech tree". So though Manhwa is becoming more popular, adapting them into animations remains a dream.
European countries tend to cooperate to make movies, not to say animations. I know that Frenches made animation out of Italian popular comic series. But in East Asia, Japan, ROK and PRC share hostility against the others, making cooperating a unavailable option. This was not true in 2004, when these three countries all took part in making an anime series called Micheal, but it won't happen now.
BTW, localization of Manhwa as well as Manhua is quite annoying. Changing from left-to-right to right-to-left...Examples are Xiada's Zibuyu and Im Dal Young's Zero.
