Yeah, but they weren't kids, they were already in their late teens... @_@

And that isn't the same with what you said.. biggrin Because she had several bruises, plus ruptured organs or something,.... and she died... I don't think you've done that to anyone...

It's just my opinion though... laugh

well, i agree with vince in that kids do wrestle and get hurt becouse of that, but when you get hurt wrestling stops, my brother wrestled with my little nephews, but when they got hurt and cried it always stopped. The article said the little kid asked them to stop but they didn´t (the guy said he didn´t know why he didn´t stop and that he was drunk).
Getting hurt because of wrestling and get killed becouse of someone got you wrestled are different things, maybe they can say in defense that they were drunk, but a lost life is still a lost life.
I don´t have any right to say "they must go to jail" or "they must be punished with death" but saying "poor of them they will go to jail" doesn´t feel right for me. Even if it wasn´t concious it was still their doing, what you have done you have carry with the consecuences.

Great just great. Some moron just gave jack thompson a good excuse to bash video games again!

Yeah, but thats a secondary thought considering the loss of life.

True, but I was doing research on Jack Thompson for a couple of hours before I read this article and was pretty pissed at him. So that was my first thought. I know I'm a bad person cry

If not Mortal Combat, than it would be sth else, like a movie ( actually, there were 2 MC movies and a series...it all sucked really bad )... violent shows trigger acts of violence, but only with people already capable of them.

What is the age limit for Mortal Combat anyway?

two teenagers, both drunk, killed a girl. it doesn't matter if she was a child or not, they killed her, she even asked them to stop.

Drunk is no excuse. they chose to get drunk, they chose to give away their rationality. So don't say they shouldn't go to jail. They are in every way responsible for what they did, if indirectly.

EDIT: to be fair, i don't think they should die, and their sentence should be shortened.

They're still playing 'Mortal Combat'? I'd be way too embarrassed to be killed reenacting anything older than Halo.

Wow.. that's seriously messed up.. and as for what Vince said... well, there's a limit to what is considered playing - when someone gets hurt or says stop, you stop. I'm sorry, but you don't hit, kick or body slam a 7 year old. That's not wrestling - which involves none of those - but pure violence and idiocy. As for what Kaioh said, bout how they should get the dealth pentality, I can't quite agree. Only because, yes, they're old enough to know what's right and wrong and old enough to know limits, but they're still very young themselves. It's tragic enough that one young life was lost (over something so stupid) and a mother losing one daughter already. And no one knows exactly what happened, as the mother said, she thinks her daughter is protecting her boyfriend.. so the daughter may only be guilty of being young, in love, stupid, and not stopping what should have been stopped.

Wow that is soo sad. I just cant believe even IF they were drunk, they still the the thought of "wrestling" with the younger sister. I bet that the younger sister was screaming for them to stop but i guess they were in their little minds thinking, "This is fun". While they get sentence for life, they dont even deserve to die, that would take the easy way out. just being in jail for the thoughs of them killing an innocent happy child would haunt them for the rest of their days is enough tourture. I feel really bad for the mom but i cant say "i understand" because i just dont, no one could be going through what her mom is going through right now

Wonder though who in Mortal Kombat has a fatality that involves a hit, a kick, and a body slam? I'd really like to know that detail.

Point is since the first time games was accused for influencing violence it almost became the generic alibi for teen violence. Now almost everything is computer games' fault. There was news before about a flight simulator being used as a training tool for terrorist training. Now that was too much. Why not point the blame on television, movies, and other media outlets that show violence? I remember that point from a Michael Moore documentary.

What is the generic blame for "adult violence"? Psychological imbalance, temporary insanity, alcohol, etc. Never heard of a 20 - 30 year old shooting someone because he was imitating Commander Keen -.-

Besides, if games can do this, then they better lock me up in jail. I mastered the Shun Goku Satsu, Rival Launcher, Konami Kode, and using the Rail Gun without zooming -.-

OMFG!
are they crazy or what?!
drunken or not it's not normal to give body slams to a child!
and to continue when she asked them to stop at that!

we did play fight games too but we stopped every time somebody didn't want to go on

sending them to jail is the least they deserve! mad

This kind of thing happened before, when a 7 year old kid jumped on his 4 year old sister from the couch and crushed her heart. He was watching wrestling of course. Some people just get carried away, so you can't hate everyone that does it

it's a huge difference when a kid does it to another kid and when almost mature people do it to a kid!

well...i believe that people should be punish in the same way they did to others..

as in, those two teenagers, should be,locked in a cage with two drunk muscles with wrestlemania on tv... and see how they like it...but need to standby with tranq gun before those teen die..so they'll learn their lesson and live to remember the consequences of their actions..

my kind of law and punishment
-you steal from ppl, ppl steal from you X2(losing money hurt the most)
-you hit others for fun, others hit you for fun.

basically, it's what i call "return the favor" system..

please note that none of the ppl i hit is innocent.. all of those that i hit is bullies, thief, and some animal abuser..

That is really horrible how could her brother do that to his younger sister no
wonder the world is corrupt with horrible people!! cry no

You got the story wrong. Go re-read or re-watch it.

The fact is that the little girl was the Female Suspect's younger sister. The Male Suspect is the Female Suspect's boyfriend, who's been living with the Female Suspect and her family for a few years, according to the story.

Either way, this is foolish. They don't deserve prison, they deserve death. Taking the life of an innocent child, extinguishing her existence, anything that she could have become, all for some sort of Joke, should be punishable by death.

Well, thats my honest opinion, anyways.

Here here. I agree.

Maybe if it was an accident i'd say go easy on someone. But clearly child abuse is not an accident.. And when the child asks the siblings to stop... And they kick her, punch her, prod her, etc... That's ridiculous. Child abuse alone should be a one way ticket to the joint for life. They may not have meant to kill her, but they meant to hurt her. That's wrong in every way possible, and if you give someone 20 years in prison they might get out and be more messed up, we can only hope that they learn instead. I'm just glad they're trying them as adults.. And damn they were drunk too, what dumbasses. Poor girl... And yeah as a second hand the whole video game thing... Gawd, they'd have done it to reenact some movie if it wasn't a game... Mortal Combats been dead and gone for ages anyway.

If things like child abuse were punishable by death though, I guarantee people wouldn't do it. Just like if theft had punishments similar to the middle east, cut off someones hand so they can't steal again or something.. none
