i doubt bamm died. He was probably saved by someone or he managed o survive himself. I would wish that he somehow returned really overpowered and wanting revenge on Rachel(Lahel). But it will probably be that he will be depresed for a while and still want to help Rachel(lahel)....
P.S. Sorry for my bad english

Everybody (and by that I mean us readers) knows Baam isn't dead, but I liked the twist and the situation itself. He's the MC, he's crucial to the development of the story so he can't die, but this whole suspense filled situation is fun once in a while.
The only thing left to know is when he'll reappear and how. There are countless possibilities for this so I'm quite excited to find out which one the author will chose. I kind of want him to go back to the group soon since their interactions, friendship and cooperation is one of the things that make ToG such a cool and fun read, but the possibility exists that he won't go back to the group and keeps going up the tower in a different way while Lahel keeps on deceiving everyone else. Somehow I think Leroro was involved in Baam's survival, it looked like he was trying too hard to convince them Baam was dead.
I really liked the reactions of the characters. Koon's reaction was especially well portrayed somehow. You could feel his pain and the strength he needed in order to just not think about it and keep a straight state of mind.
