Oh my god. So sorry to be venting in such a manner. BUT, to anyone who has read Hot Gimmick. (a shoujo manga) I have so much to complain about.
FIRST OFF; I'm personally happy that Hatsumi got together with Ryo, i dont know why, i think i'd feel better if she was with one of the other 2 guys, but still, i think he deserved some kind of happiness in his despicable life. But..is it weird to feel bad for Her brother? Shinogu. I mean, he loved her. I at least wanted him to have his happy ending. And then Azusa. COME ON, He went through so much. but he didnt get a happy ending either. but i do like how it ended with him saying he was going to steal her away. wellll, Secondly. I was incredibly angry with the fact that so many guys liked this girl, and none of them but Ryo got some happiness. It puts me in such a foul mood.
And can someone PLEAAAASE tell me what happens in the alternate ending with Shinogu? it's called Hot Gimmick S. and i wanna know! xD

It was a terrible, exploitative story. I am a man and had read little shoujo til I stumbled on this one. I was OK with the awfulness of the main character marrying a cruel bastard. It was just a story after all. Then I read many, many comments by women and girls saying what a great couple those two made, etc. And then there was this common line:
"Sure [the guy she chose] was kind of moody, but he was so sweet sometime, and you could see from the way he acted that he loved her more than anything!"
This was the first time I saw the ugly truth about how women like "bad boys". Apparently, lots don't just like boys who are bad, but boys who are bad to THEM.
If the story of this manga actually happened, then the stupid woman who chose a man like that would be hiding in a battered women's center within 10 years, guaranteed.
Apparently, women can be just as stupid about men as men can about women, and this story taps that stupidity.
