Even though I don't really like the way OneManga resizes their manga, I have to say I am a bit sad that it will be gone...

On the bright side, it's a battle of attrition. Maintaining legal pressure on the internet costs publishers too much money to last. Their intimidation budget will run out soon enough and they'll go back to business.

Even if MU has to remove link to scanlator sites, I'm fine with it.
Just stay online please.

Actually, closing manga reading online website will benefit the scanlation group cuz they always prefer us taking manga directly from them.
BUT if MangaUpdates is taken down, it will be disaster because searching by google and checking each scanlation group website/irc everyday will be really painful >.<

I don't really care that much for online readers - as long as there is a way to download chapters I'll do that.
And I don't think mangaupdates will get a letter from the association - you're only providing the info, you're not hosting anything.

You can PM me if you need a temporary (freelance) cleaner/redrawer for some project. Especially if it's something with nice art.
Being the lazy person that I am, I'm not likely to accept anything long-term though.

Ah just use Unix Manga For now
Google it... There actually dozen of manga site (some are very huge bigger than onemanga or relative close to mangafox but not be known at all)
And there is dozen of private one (which is not publicly open.. i have access to few so my manga days are safe ~ forever )
Hope they don't shut down scanlation group though...

What else is there to say? They really have nothing to gain from taking out MU. Hell, you can get most of the info from this site using wiki and Google. All they would accomplish is fracturing and pissing off the scanlation community. At this point, they might as well be pissing off their entire customer base.

I just wish this backfires into the publishers face and their sales drop down to 0% .

I never thought I'd see the day. This has to be the beginning of the end...
I can't think of a single manga reader or similar online that's been untouched so far. Now you can only fall back on Lurk, but they update so incredibly slow. The day Lurk goes down too is the end of scanlation as we know it. I had just hoped that the community would put up a harder fight rather than just rolling over and declaring defeat.

This is REALLY depressing. I've been using Onemanga for 7 years now, and to me, online scanalations just won't be the same without it. I mean, I've been using it as long as I've been reading manga.
Is 1000manga closing as well?
