Hi so i'm looking for any animes that are like this. I've already watched Aquarion, and Macross Frontier, both of which were by the same director. I'm looking for something that has a great blend of both Mecha style fighting and romance.

Full Metal Panic?

It's at the top of my list for mecha romance. Maybe my avatar gave it away.

and

p.s. AniDB is similar website to BU: it doesnt have stream or download links but has good info base about anime.

Check these out:

- Asura Cryin
- Code Geass - Some romance
- Escaflowne
- Eureka Seven
- Full Metal Panic! - Seconded
- Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari - Organic mechs or something like that
- Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
- Neon Genesis Evangelion - Not really romance but it shouldn't be missed, the Rebuild movies as well
- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Voices of a Distant Star

Also, though it's not an anime I recommend playing the Muv-Luv Visual novels. They are incredible especially Alternative. Extra doesn't have mechs, but once you get through that Unlimited and Alternative have plenty of mech action. There's a spinoff anime for Alternative airing right now called Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse that you might want to check out too, but since I haven't read the light novels it's based on I don't know how much romance is involved or if the anime will even be any good.

Try Xamd. Similar to rahxephon because they both have great music, great story, and an interesting romance between the protagonist and heroine.

Oh I forgot to mention Blue Gender. Good mecha with romance, very similar to rahxephon.

Aquarion = Rahxephon but with a diferent mitology.
Fafner is a gay version of Rahxephon.

Appleseed
Gundam 00 has several romantic pairings
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
but I think only one works out

^^Agreed with the above on Tengen Toppa, one of the very, very few anime that I have re-watched multiple times. Has some of the most epic scenes I've seen...a must watch

I'll second Gundam SEED... as being, along with RahXephon, one of the few mecha anime worth watching.

I got bored of Gurren Lagann halfway through. Unlike the former two mentioned, it isn't really character-driven, which hurts it IMHO.
