Glass Mask and Skip Beat, however my read right now is a manwha so it won't be something up your alley.
My first two mentions are awesome reads and both have a bright disposition in personality.

Best manga I've read recently with such a male lead is Giant Killing. The anime is also great.
I would also recommend the following J-dramas I watched recently if you are OK with a bit of romance (adult relationships):
Second Virgin
Hayami-san to Yobareru Hi
And here are another two good non-romance J-dramas:
Umareru
Freeter, Ie o Kau
