I'm watching a lot, especially judo, handball and basketball. I love how athletes seem to bathe in fair-play and harmony during the olympics... (most of them)
I'm supporting my own country, isn't that a given?
Can't wait for track and field. Great olympics so far!

Supporting Team GB, obviously ^^ it's quite hard not to get caught up in Olympic fever here since we're hosting. Haven't been to any events personally but have watched a lot on TV. Have to say, we were doing pretty poorly in the medals table until a few days ago, but now we've got quite a few golds. Can't rival the US or China but they have a lot more people to choose from than we do.
I've watched a bit of diving, swimming, gymnastics, rowing, canoe slalom, shooting, cycling and judo. Watching diving and gymnastics is possibly my favourite, they're really beautiful to watch and quite exciting.

I'm only interested in track and field.
I can't wait to watch Jamaica kill it and then the Americans being sore losers.

I would have thought the "more to choose from" is referring to the population of the country rather than how many are competing. That's what I thought anyway XD
China has over 1 billion people. Of course you're going to find super stars if you got that many people to choose from and invest a lot of money into the sport industry to find talent. Same with the USA. Huge population; more choice. First and 3rd most populated countries in the world respectively who invest a lot of money into sports, China going so far to have factory like training centres where they find kids with talent and train them day and night.
Britain is a tiny country in comparison XD They have something like what, just over 60 mil, where USA has over 300 mil and China has over 1 bil lol.
Anyway, as for the games themselves, I've been watching loads. Like mogiks said, it's hard not to get caught up in it XD
I've watched sports that I wouldn't have originally thought I'd bother to watch (I've never been so into Judo before) and the cycling track is damn thrilling to watch. Can't wait for the finals of track and field to come though. That's where the real thrilling races are.

Since my country started joining the Olympics, we still haven't got our first gold medal yet, despite having a few athletes with no. 1 world ranking in their respective sports. So on every Olympics, the local media made it a huge deal to promote the athletes that have potential for giving our country the first gold medal. I'm hoping that we make it this year...

I know!!!!!! so stoked!!!!! And so proud!
i enjoy watching loads of stuff but unfortunately there's not a lot of choice of what to watch here but still really good! i love the men's gymanstics, women's gymanstics, swimming, rowing, badminton, table tennis... THE LOT and athletics of course! Valerie Adams for the gold!
mm, if you go to some other sites who re-order the medal table to per capita then you will find i think lithuania in second then NZ in third? But so far we are beating australia in the number of golds we have, mwahahaha!
It's kind of funny how it works, when a big country like china or US gets gold it's like oh yeah, good job, when nz gets a medal, bronze, silver or gold, IT'S PARTY TIME!
NZ cycling pursuit team bronze! Woot!
Oh, and @Nightswan, whatta troll

USA! USA!
Nah, I really don't care
It wouldn't make any difference to me if USA didn't get a single medal. If anything, I'm happy for the gymnastics team. It's kinda funny how the media is saying "we haven't won a gold in gymnastics in 16 years," like it's been forever which really isn't that long seeing as the Olympics is held once every four years.
Another thing I noticed is how beefed up that little female Chinese swimmer is. The only people I've seen with a body like that (especially the face omg) is someone using steroids, even sick people. The Chinese have been caught a bunch of time cheating, like putting too young of girls in gymnastic events. Then the Chinese accused Phelps of doping. Yeah, marijuana Goes to show that even the most decorated Olympian in history can smoke weed and still do excellent. Even if that girl isn't doping (like the Chinese government isn't capable of coming up with a "performance enhancer" that wouldn't show up since they are trying to flex their muscle as a superpower), the Chinese will always be accused of cheating because they've done it recently in the past and had those players compete. They'll be haunted by that for a long time as far as the Olympics go. Even the US government won't allow cheaters, and that's saying something
I also enjoyed the story of the Great Britain PE teacher who lied about her height in a classified ad in the rowing event and got gold. When I saw how excited her fellow soldiers were (because she served in the army there), it really was touching. And the Chinese guy who rode a rickshaw for a year or two all the way to London (more or less), too. Really shows the spirit of the Olympics.

Oh man, that gabrielle douglas WAS AMAZING!
And that chinese swimmere was 4sec faster than ryan lochte. Something's up there.
Yeah, I believe the underlying aim of the olympics is that it unifies the world, it's just such a shame that it's such a money making bussiness now
