I love this site, you guys always have so many ideas! Thanks for the previous help given to me before here!

Ok, there are several parts to this request.

Firstly
I am looking for a manga where the main character develops as a person in a complex way.
By this I mean, that she doesn't suddenly get a makeover in the first volume, or have some dramatic challenge/tragedy chucked at her which forces her to drastically change as a person.
I mean that it happens gradually, over the years and preferably she develops into someone who isn't some sort of housewife, if at all possible.

Secondly
That the main character has several relationships (well at least one) with a person other then the one that she finally ends up with AND that we actually get to see these relationships and they don't just occur off screen/before the manga begins.

Lastly
Would be great if you've read it before and can recommend it through first hand experience.

Ps: I am using 'she' here because I'm not looking for a shounen, not because the main character should be a girl. And also, please don't list anything cringingly cliche because I probably will have already read it.

Thanks for your time! smile

Hoshi no furu machi
I completed this just the other day. The main is male, hope it isn't a problem. It has all the things you requested.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The ending is kinda rushed, but the series is good overall.

NG Life
The MC is male, but it's shoujo. The MC develops and learn to get over his past life and continue his life as he is right now.
It has some supernatural thing, I hope you don't mind.

Hourou Musuko
The 1st title pops in my head when I read you request, but it's seinen... so I place it 2nd.

I'll list more if I can remember.

Ashita no Ousama
It might not really fit your 2nd, but the development of her character is well written.

7 Seeds
- I believe every character in this story developed in one way or another.
Don't leave because you dislike the early chapter or unused to the art style (which, I have to admit I did) This manga is one of the best manga out there, and you won't regret reading it.

Gozen 3-ji no Muhouchitai was the Manga I had spontanously to think of, after reading your request. Although I'm still in the middle, the main character starts off without knowing what she really wants in life, but then gradually begins to see things from a different point of view. ^^

And ...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
... she even realizes the distance between herself and her current boyfriend, which she tried to ignore before. As you can guess, they break up later on and she gets to know someone else, who seems to be a better match.

Thanks guys! Sorry for not getting back earlier as I was on holiday...
These are great suggestions and all look promising (although I have already read Hourou Musuko [liked it a lot!] and Ashita no Ousama [not as much, I'm sorry]).
Please if you have anymore please feel free to list them, I am going to go read what you have suggested now. *Runs off with great excitement* biggrin
