God how much I love Suwa!!! He is really one of those guys that has a great heart and truly puts others before himself. I know that current Naho doesn't see Suwa in a romantic way because she likes Kakeru, but man, I am secretly wishing that she'll end up with Suwa even if Kakeru is saved.

As for ch 8, I freaked out when

Suwa announced that he also got a letter from his future self! I mean I knew something was fishy because he was so nice to Kakeru esp. when it concerned Naho, but man! I flipped! His future self probably told him to sacrifice his love for Naho so that Kakeru wouldn't commit suicide...seriously, what a true gentleman.
Can't wait for the next chapter!

Lol, I agree with you. I like Suwa's personality and how he's cheering on Kakeru and Naho's relationship.
However, I can't shake the feeling that that's not all there is to it. Relationships and emotions and the like are never as simple as A + B = C. Call me a pessimist, but it's kind of suspicious that Suwa is cheering them on so adamantly. Whenever I see a person (Suwa), who likes someone (Naho), promoting the relationship of that person with another person (Kakeru), it makes me suspicious. They always have some ulterior motive for what they're doing.
Also,

I keep seeing this on the internet everywhere, but it isn't true; Suwa never says that he got a letter from himself. He just asks if Naho got a letter. You can infer that he did, but for all we know he could either be referring to something else, or he could be saying that because Azu, Taka, and/or Hagita each received one.
But at the same time, I get the feeling that if Suwa did receive a letter, he knows that his future self will end up with Naho, and he's willing to make the sacrifice.
If we're going along with the parallel world theory, that would be why I'm skeptical of his actions. But with the single world/past/future theory, Suwa knows he'll end up with Naho in the end. Which would make me rage.
So it's probably that, or he knows that it might not work out with Kakeru + Naho, or that Kakeru doesn't even like Naho...
:x
Unfortunately, but also fortunately, with series like these, you can't predict anything. Who knows what will happen.

I'm certainly looking forward to the next chapter. eyes

@Izirae, you're overthinking things.
First of all the manga is a shoujo, also it was written by a female mangaka... because of that the story is a utopic story.

Meaning that Suwa is probably just as he appears, a good guy sacrificing his future for the both people he likes... Naho and Kakeru. He probably figured out the fact that Naho has been regretting the fact that Kakeru died, and that he loved him or something like that.

@polarpotterbear
I think the mangaka decided to go with the parallel theory is because she probably fell in love with both characters Suwa and Kakeru, and probably felt that this way, there's 2 happy endings. Also this is my guess... but probably the manga will continue as it is now, and it will end good on both parallel versions of the world. I think in the version where kakeru dies, the mangaka will come with a good ending... without regrets.

I just hope this manga won't end in 1-2 volumes like her other works. Because if it's like that, the ending's gonna be abrupt. :/

My suspicions were right - and I freaking teared up at the end of ch 9! I am officially a die-hard fan of Suwa. This manga is ridiculously good - no matter the outcome smile wink grin

@Ascension I think you're right about the mangaka creating 2 happy endings - I never thought about it like that. As for it ending soon, I'm sure this one will be at least 3 volumes long. It's already reached 2 volumes and her other popular series Yume Miru Taiyou lasted 10 volumes smile

@ascension: shoujo manga is much more complicated than you think! sometimes bad stuff happens and just stays that way. i'm always on the lookout for tragic shoujos ;D~

actually here's my theory:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
i actually think that in addition to suwa getting a letter, kakeru probably got a letter too. there's something weird about the way he acts around naho and suwa and something off about the way he talks about the past. i think it's more than just regret about his mom. maybe in this parallel line, something happens to suwa in the future, or something happens naho while in a relationship with kakeru, so he tells himself to get rid of himself so they may all live peaceful lives in their future. i mean, this is just me wildly guessing stuff, but in my experience, stories with time shenanigans never end well or completely happy.

suwa is a man among men. i am (not so) secretly rooting for him, even though i like kakeru. but i think this story is going to be much more complicated than just the general love triangle biggrin
