I believe im a hardcore gamer, erm, I think... My motto has always been play games to live.

I play all kinda games, mostly consoles. If I do play on the PC, its usually RTS. My absolute favourite is games by EALA, former Westwood. C&C series, especially Red Alert and Generals. Now I'm usually playing Middle Earth and Middle Earth 2 + expansion.

As for consoles pretty much been playing since i was 3 on my uncles' atari... But the game which I cant forget is unbelievably contra on the NES lol. Absolutely loved to compete with my uncle over the flying gun power ups. My first console was the Saturn, after which I got the N64, WWF wrestlemania/no mercy anyone? Then I moved onto the gamecube and till now still smashing in Melee. Skipped the xbox cuz of sucky games and got the PS2, played some games and clocked the most on God Of War, i dont know how many times i've beaten the game. Makes for a good stress reliever. Then after the mod chip came out for the xbox, I got it... Was a ninja gaiden freak for a while. Then the 360 came out, and now I'm hooked to Gears of War. I got the PS3 on launch, and the useless piece of crap smoked out after just 18 hours of gaming. Advise: DO NOT GET the aeroplane game. And dont trust the six axis controller. It seriously is crapo. On the Wii im playing Madden and Wii sports. Zelda, I'm saving to finish up at a later date, but the Wii mote rocks. Btw, Brawl is coming out at the end of 2007, haha, and its said to be online... Now thats fun. Cant wait for the DS/Wii connectivity games to be released, namely pokemon lol. Finally they release a pokemon online game. Been waiting for a loooong time. Now im just playing some Animal crossing on the DS when im travelling... Any of you have towns? Haha... I'm just a 22 year old with a big body but am still a 10 year old kid playing games. Except for my 2 uncles the rest of em hate games lol...

Ah! finally a real gamer!
I was a huge fan of te Command and Conquer series to. Seriously those where great games! the graphics sucked but you still could enjoy them for hours! But I must say that since Westwood Studios got bought by EA...
Generals was one of the worst games I ever saw in my entire life... It has no real meaning a game made to get the benefits from the crisis in Irak, Just so people can play kill the terrorists...
EA games are always incredibly bad anyway, except high quality graphics they have nothing good...

And Oh! Pokemon, you may laugh if you want, but that's one of the best RPGs on hand held consoles.

The first Pokemon was great but the subsequent follow-ups haven't lived up to the addictive nature of the first.

I'm sorta looking forward to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, though. Online battles, and trading...

I found all the pokemon games until Cristal to be quite good. (Red/Blue/Yellow and Gold/Silver/cristal). But after that... they just totally get on my nerves, I don't know exactly why. Maybe I got bored of playing the same game again? Unless they make something incredibly innovative in the Diamond/Pearl, I think I'll just skip...
P.S. I still think that pokemon was a great game though...

1. Yes
2. Mainly PC (and mainly fps when playing online and strategy when playing offline, stuff like Rome: Total War or Civ4)
3. Yea, an ancient SNES, a super famicon (yes, I actually got one from my cousin years and years ago, like almost right after I got the snes too >.<), a n64, PS2 and gamecube
4. I'd get the Wii if only I wasn't so low on money at the moment >.<. Not too crazy about the overhyped computer (PS3) especially since I don't own a HDTV and I just go over to my friend's place to play on his 360.

2.Pc or Console?
3.What consoles do you own?
4.What new generation console will/have you bought?

1. Yes.
2. Both.
3. Saturn, N64, Cube, DS, PS2.
4. Plan on getting Wii, but that won't be for a while.

Not a fan of microsoft, and no interest in PS3, so yeh, Wii is what i'll be going for.

1- Not for the past while
2- Both
3- Lots, notables were NES, SNES, PS1, XBox, DS Lite
4- None yet, might get a Wii though.

I've been a real hardcore gamer in the days of StarCraft/Brood Wars, but I've slowed down considerably since then, partly due to the fact that no other RTSes match up to what SC/BW was, and I'm including War3/TFT into it.

I used to play lots of RPGs, but as I get older I find it harder and harder to have the time/willpower to set aside the amount of dedication to finish them. A problem with RPGs is that you lose track of your status/goal/direction if you stop for an extended while.

lol so true! I'm still waiting for an eventual Starcraft 2 mad ...
And I to totaly lose track of myself on my RPGs (especialy if you where doing all those sidequests)... that's why I play them one at a time, and try not to stop before I finished it.
But with that policy, I have a HUGE number of RPGs still on my waiting list, that I will eventualy play when I have the time.

Same problem as the last few posters.

It's a sad day when I still call RPGs my favorite genre but I play them so slowly. I'm playing Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess right now (not necessarily an RPG but it's a long game) - its taken me a little less than a month to play 46 hours. Didn't I use finish 46 hours in a week or two...

I am not sure what TFT is, but a really good recent RTS game is dawn of war with its two Add ons. It is in the wahrammer 40k universe if you know it, and it really is something.
First of all, you don't need 30 workers to harvest resources, but instead its a mixture of captur the flag and building generators. Second of all, all infantry works in sqauds, which makes it so much better to manage. Also, Squads can reinforce, which means you don't have a constant stream of reinforcement units from the factorys to the front. Third, by now they have 7 fully functioning factions to play. They aren't as well balanced as the three in SC, but it really opens up lots of options and strategies.
And fourth, its fricking beautifull. I have never seen a RTS with such great battles.
I am a big fan of Warhammer anyway. My favorite move in the game is when you play one of the human factions, you can have a officer execute an infantrymen for cowardice during battle. Makes the units fight harder and break less.
ok, so much for my dawn of war add.
