Really couldn't care less as long as it's not physical relationship and they are actually willing to wait till she is 16 or if its a publicity stunt, but if its true congratulations as long as they don't have it physical.

I agree with Kaitentsuji. Although I think it's really weird to have a serious attraction for a 12 year old's personality. I'm betting on the publicity stunt, it's awkward but it sure works

followed her home from school,visiting her at home
police would be informed

pedophilia is not cool or ok just bcoz its celebs who take part in it
and even if he is mentaly ill and underdeveloped like a 12yo
its still wrong
and its even worse if its just a publicity stunt that works
pedophilia is not a legitime way to make a name for urself and further your career

There has been no proof that he has sexually touched her so why are you even going that way? They even are saying that they are waiting till shes 16 to marry, as long as its not physical it should be okay, i mean love isn't limited to age and also there is no proof it is a publicity stunt and following a girlfriend home just because shes underage isn't illegal, if both parties consent it should not be a problem, sex is a whole different matter though. Being a couple doesn't mean sex, of course its a part of it but that doesn't mean it has to take place. I respect your right of opinion, I just deny it with mine.

Consent is precisely the problem. At what age are people old enough to consent to a relationship. Most common age of consent across the world is at 16 years old. A 12 year old's mind isn't there yet, and even more so impressionable. Which is why pedophiles have been know to "groom" their victims at young age because they don't know any better and are easily influenced by men whom treat them like princesses. I am not saying that he is a pedophile but a line has to be drawn somewhere and celebrities don't get to play by a separate set of rules.

TLDR: She cannot legally consent to a relationship, whether its physical or emotional

Hmmm, are you informed on the measures the parents and police are taking to stop/maintain this? Or can I keep believing you are just assuming they did nothing out of prejudice against the police or people in general in relation to their attitude towards celebs?

Don't be such a downer, maybe it's just pure love There's no shortage of examples of lovers out there with huge age gaps, just not many who start so soon.

I do agree with hazai on the consent issue though. I think it's up to her parents, and any other concerned caretaker, to monitor the situation and decide whether to let this go on or not. If it was my daughter I'd probably kick is ass, but they may have a different opinion on the matter.

Upon further reading even worst hes been her music coach when she was 8. Which makes it worse because he is in a position of authority to her. Similar to teacher/student, priest/boy, scout master/scout. I probably know i'm going to fall on deaf ears because many manga readers have more unique taste then your average person, and eastern cultures, especially Japanese are obsessed with youth but when if comes down to it we as a society has chosen in this age and day that people have to be a certain age to have relationships with anybody they want.
It really is a slippery slope. What makes this couples love so much more pure then anybody else that wants to pursue a relationship with a child. If this guy can do this, what stop all the pedophiles from claiming the same thing. And in fact most pedophiles really do thing what they are doing isn't wrong.
Just because people in the past tended to get married earlier do not excuse it in the present.

Edit: Her parents cannot consent for her to have a relationship, because the age of consent is set by the society they live in not the parents.

Edit2: Turns out age of consent in china is 14 and in Canada is 16

I never meant that to be an excuse for anything! I was just pointing out that in that case the world should have ended sooner.
I thought age of consent was related to the physical aspect of relationships only. Then can't a 17yo and 15yo in Canada, for example, publicly declare they're in a relationship (not necessarily physical)?

I doubt the relationship will last, I mean do you know anyone who has been with the same guy/girl from age 12!

When you're that young the things you look for in a partner isn't really what you want when you grow up!

There are no laws that you can't be in a platonic relationship with a girl that age...

I only hope someone monitors the relationship. I won't say that I'm for or against this, but if it's kept strictly innocent until she's of age, I dont see anything wrong with it. After all, I know of girls who have had crushes on older men while they were her age and no one ever told them it's wrong. All the fuss is because the guy actually recipocated her feelings.
