Unfortunately after a few chapters in it forgot it had a setting.

It's really regrettable that when you take a closer look at this title it's pretty shallow. Most of the time it looks like the country runs itself, additionally the Queen is in such a poor shape you would expect the Crown Princes to take over most of the work, ergo, actually rule and make important decisions. Not to put a finer point to it but even then you need a whole lot of other people with which you have to interact for this thing to work, like: ministers, generals, spy-masters etc.

Instead we have to deal with this rather absurd notion of "you can be worth to ruler ONLY after giving birth to a successor(a girl to be precise)". Excuse me but as far history is concerned that's wrong - well not totally wrong as having a clear line of succession has a lot of merit in itself when it comes to the general stability of ones realm for obvious reasons - because what make a good King/Emperor/etc. is how he manages the people and lands under his/her control, duh.

Anyway, the developments till chapter 14 are going in a rather strange direction. I'm wondering if our protagonist will now try to actually retake the throne, when in reality he has no right to it. Now that I think about it, cutting his hair and leaving the country altogether is his best bet to stay alive. What keeps him from doing that anyway? The promise to his sister and mother? The mother who would cut his throat if she was sane and knew who he was?

Let me get this straight. After losing a position because - of his own incompetence - that he original usurped, he's now going try to get it back? The motivation here is a bit weak.

From the other minor annoyances the worst is probably the "someone-stuck-a-knife-into-this-guys-back-that's-wh y-I-will-try-to-pull-it-out-and-suddenly-twenty-people-will-appear-absolu tely-convinced-I-did-it" cliché. It's probably the lamest and stupidest cliché in existence and anybody using it as a serious plot point should be ashamed of himself as a storyteller.

Well to begin with a realm controlled by women is ridiculous so don't worry too much, i never really started reading it because such crazy fantasies don't suit me.

Matriarchy isn't exactly ridiculous. True, there don't exist any good examples but the concept is far from impossible.

I disagree, at least in humans it won't happen. The female of the humans is too emotional, it won't happen, or at least it's not something that can last, take it as you might, the thread had drifter far enough from topic and i will only cause a bigger discussion if I'm to be keep here, peace out

Hey it's fiction and in the fictional world anything is possible!
I think the mangaka had something going on, but after chapter 14, it really gets me thinking how will it progress?!

Weak motivation to reclaim the throne, yeah sure, it is indeed poorly built in, but I guess Albert is trying to clean the kingdom up for Alexia, but since his mother is still in the way (sick, but ALIVE!) I guess that's why he wasn't able to make any important decisions until he births a girl so he may become the queen.

The cliche idea of the stabbing didn't really pull any strings that would make me want to condemn the author for actually executing it in her story lol, i mean you believe what you see especially back in that archaic time period because scanning for DNA wasn't invented back then! laugh
Probably making a weak reply, but there's no perfect story without cliches of course I could be wrong.

roll

I just read 6 chapters in, and I kinda get what you're getting at. But I feel that the author is just trying to create a unique story that most shoujo manga hasn't aimed at yet.

I mean, look at the tags! You got: Comedy, Drama (an obvious given in most shoujos), Fantasy, Gender Bender (a rare thing to see in most shoujos without it being Josei), Historical (the author is practically screaming UNIQUE with this one), and Mystery.

I'm just going to trust the author with his story and hope it all connects in a way that we can all say: "OH, Now that's why this was done this way!" Let's just enjoy the ride.

Has anybody ever told you how incredibly impolite it is for someone to barge into a thread, state your opinion, then immediately say the topic is drifting off course so we better stop. I actually think that makes you a douchebag.

A forum is for discussing, right? So why shouldn't we talk about it, imagine for a moment that someone could actually prove you wrong. Wouldn't that be interesting?

My believe is that there are no bad clichés per se, what there is good/bad execution. Some clichés are easier to do, other harder. The "knife-in-the-back-frame" is probably one of the hardest to to pull off. If you manage it good for you, but if you fuck it up the consequence is that the reader may think that the author is trying to pull a cheap-ass dramatic plot point, either because he lacks ideas or is just lazy.

In reality he's just incompetent at "clock-and-dagger". It's the same thing with that pathetic excuse for the "Coup d'état", it doesn't work that way at all. I won't even try to point out what's wrong with it, I wouldn't even know where to start.

So? I can try to create a story where after the WW1 90% males died off because a deadly virus, even then WW2 still happens. But this time it's a war where women do the majority of the fighting. Somewhere in that large conflict a Japanese warship gets trans-located to a different dimension and ends up fighting a Patriarchal society which mistakingly thinks that it's there to conquer them and set a Matriarchal rule.

A fresh concept, won't help me one bit in the long run if I treat my readers like morons.

Maybe, time will tell.

Just like, all the TIME. And yeah, i would like to see people prove me wrong, but as i told you, things that are too fictional just don't suit my taste, clearly i'm making fun of you and i got great pleasure in your lack of understanding of this fact.

I also meant what i said, i had mislead many Threads due to my hobby of mocking and i think it might turn out wrong again if i'm to be keep here, just like at this post... tst tst* how rude.

So yeah, I was pretty much spot-on. A douchebag that enters a new thread, spouts shit that isn't even funny, then goes "LOL, I troll you" when someone tries to actually say something of substance.

Your 'humor' sucks, by the way.
