No and whenever I see that someone's
style has been deflowered
by manga art, I die inside.
I can and do draw without it,
but I mostly paint and do sculpture.

Yeah. I only mostly draw because of my interest for manga. If I wasn't such a manga fan I wouldn't even be interested in drawing.

I don't call what I do "art", because basically I just copy characters that someone else created. I don't have a particular "style" either, because I'm not an artist. I'm just someone who likes to draw the nice characters I see in the manga I read.

Here's a couple I've done. They're from Ludwig Kakumei.

but as for the question...
i'd love to draw, but i suck at it soooooo bad
everytime i had to draw something for class, i drew stickfigures.
and even those sucked.

I"m a geezer (almost 40!!) so the stereotypical "anime" style wasn't as prevalent back when I was just a nugget as it is now. Even at that early time I was exposed to manga due to an eye opening library book but it took awhile for me to figure out that manga wasn't just somethng that the Japanese can do. Now? I switch back an forth depending on the content of what I'm working on, but I can honestly say that there's some Japanese influence in everything I do.

ive always drawn my crappy doodles since i was a kid(made up i think 300+ superheros and like 100 pokemon), but manganime was a good catalyst for me(especially random characters, im in a temari fix right now).

I'm not that good, only i notice when i doodle in class they always turn out way better then normal.......

Yes. But it doesn't look that great.

I'm an art major and I find it easier to draw someone's portrait than to draw an anime figure confused

Em.. I don't think I fit the poll..
I had started drawing way before I started reading manga, but than I went into drawing cartoons dorm anime/manga..
Just looked pretty..

I'm sad to say that I haven't been drawing for the past maybe 18 or more month... *sigh*

I mostly copy..
My last one was the minstrel from ragnarok (from the site)..
I miss drawing so much, but I have no time...

Oh my.. I went completly of topic~.~

back when I was 10 or 11, I kept copying manga characters too XD <really bad> hahaha

then 11-12: got better on copying XD
12-13: got bored of copying, so drew my own little characters
13-14: ...random doodles in class XD; *some floating heads, and text art :3*

There were times where i drew some big globs of black patterned thingy too XD

I drew ever since I can remember and until 7-8 gathered a full pile of Sailor Moon drawings. Then quit (one of the things I regret most) and picked it up when I got into anime again, with Shaman King. Now I'm still recovering from that 4 -year period in which I drew nothing, and I now usually get the poses or outfits from pics of j-rockers (and even those end up looking nothing like the original).
Never, ever done fanart. Okay, once. And it was the best drawing I've ever done no
